The other thing you have to remember is that you spent so much time planning..... and now it's done. It's such a build up for really what amounts to a short period of time in spite of being in a fabulous resort. It's a bit of a let down once it's all done! lol I know that sounds silly but think about all the time you've spent planning everything. Weddings have a way of taking over your life in the planning stage and then boom. You're a newlywed. It's a magical moment and then you're an ordinary person again. And if you've been living together for any length of time.... We got home from Jamaica and thankfully had our AHR to plan but seriously - we got home and sort of sat and looked at each other and asked what now? lol Stupid I know. The one thing we made sure when we got home was that we kept the "newlywed" even at our age and even being together as long as we have. I wouldn't worry too much about what happened during your wedding week. I still wonder if I spent enough time with our guests at our reception and people still talk about how much fun it was. Have some fun being married! You're a newly wed! Enjoy being with the man you love!

I had to giggle with your 'what now?' comment.

I remember when I came home with my newborn twins, almost 9 years ago (Dec 19), and I looked at their dad and was like 'what do we do now?' hahahah  great memories, thank you for that.

lol People seem to forget nowdays maybe because couples live together so much before they get married. You have to keep the magic. It's too bad someone saw fit to complain after a vacation in Mexico but you can't please everyone all the time.

Thanks ladies. You all have made me feel a lot better about things. At the end of the day, I did all I could to make people feel appreciated & welcomed and tried to spend as much time as I could, so there's nothing more I could of done. I'm seeing that now and slowly releasing my guilt on the subject :)

aww don't let that friend ruin your perception of the wedding. I am sure people had a great time. I am slightly worried about spending time with everyone, but in the end I will try to keep people updated on where I am going to be sitting, lying, eating etc and people can come hang out if they wish. It would be too hard and stressful to try to keep picking between groups. In the end, they should make their own fun at a beautiful resort with their own friends/family.

At my friends destination wedding I kind of felt disappointed I didn't see her enough (I only get to see her like 1-2x per year bc of distance), because no one was staying at the same resort, most people were only there for a long weekend, they had tons of wedding planning to do last minute, and she had like 100 guests- but I didn't hold it against her- she did the best she could! I use that example to try to make sure I have most things taken care of the day before everyone gets there and don't stress too much on making things perfect.  You just have to imagine what most people go through at their 1 night wedding- there is no way I would be able to spend any time with the 200+people that usually go to those things.

We also stayed for 2 weeks. The first week was us and my dad and stepmom. It was so good to have that week to get our bearings and have some time before everyone arrived. We had a few ppl start coming Thursday (main arrivals were Saturday) which was great because we got to spend time with those ppl. Once everyone came it did get a bit chaotic.

I couldn't imagine arriving with everyone. Our wedding was Monday - which was two days after arrivals, really only giving one full day for ppl to settle in - this was good in a sense that everyone then could relax for the rest of the week. I think we lucked out in the sense that our families all bonded well and kept each other happy. I was surprised we didn't have more meals with just immediate family, but again, I think they were happy to just do whatever. The resort was on the smaller side, so it was easy to find each other and hang out together. We had a swim out room which acted as a good place to have some one on one time with ppl - since we have kids, one of us had to go take them to nap... But we always had ppl come hang out with us - I saw it as ppls opportunity to come get their one on one time! I don't think anyway is disappointed - I think they all had a great time. I am disappointed I didn't spend more time with my in laws, but we so see them a a

Fairly regular basis at home.
