Advice About Sending Decorations

Recommended Posts

I'm making a PLETHORA of tissue paper flowers for my wedding.

I am a bit hesitant of taking them with me carry on, or in my baggage, due to the fact that they take up space, due to their "fluffyness", and I really don't want them to be damaged :/

I am getting married at Secrets Capri, and am intending on using the centerpieces and bouquet that are included in our package, just for the ceremony.  I'm in love with my paper flowers :)

Has anyone shipped to Mexico, or planning to do so with some of their decoration?  It's not as though paper flowers hold any value, so I figure it's not too much to worry about?

Advice welcome!!

These are what my flowers look like :D except red, orange and yellow!

From my time on this board it isn't recommended for a few reasons. 1. Sometimes it doesn't make it in time 2. Customs picks threw it and you don't get all your stuff 3. Resorts don't like to hold stuff for you.

Good luck. I just plan to put everything in checked baggage except my outfit/wedding attire and jewelry. Plus anything breakable.

Personally I wouldn't recommend shipping, unless you've got someone who definitely pick it up /or hold onto it....it can also be very pricey!!!! We had to sentpd our invites to my Fiancés parents in Jamaica ( roughly 30 invites) and our legal paperwork.... the package weighed a little over 1kg, it ended up costing €175!!!!!! Good luck, I'm planning on bringing everything else in my hand luggage!!!

@@lydiasusi, OMG your flowers look amazing! It may be too late since you already fluffed them up... But have you thought about bringing the flowers flat? Like they how they come when you buy them? That's how mine are. :-)

And we are fortunate enough to be able to do a site visit this Christmas for our July 2015 wedding. I plan to bring a huge suitcase of paper tissue poms(u fluffed), paper lanterns, wish lanterns, candles for centerpieces, marbles, etc. And my wedding coordinator is keeping them for me until July. I might even do a storage locker for 7 months! Worth not having to worry about all that during wedding week!
