Is Airbrush Makeup Really Worth It?

Recommended Posts

I have had airbrush makeup but did not use it at my recent wedding at Moon Palace. I would say that if your climate is going to be extremely humid-- airbrushing will be worth it. The humidity wasn't terrible this month in Cancun. My makeup was perfect all night. Had it done at 10:30 am, married at 4:00 and reception went until 10 pm. Jumped into the pool at 11 pm and my makeup was still perfect!!

I am not a super sweater either. It all depends on you and what you're looking for. Some women like it because they will spray your neck and collar bone area to blend a lot.

I use MAC products and so did my resort. They used a heavy primer and then use a setting spray at the end to make the makeup last. I would check with your resort to see what they use, check the average humidity and temperature and go from there.

Wishing you luck and a beautiful wedding!!

thanks! Our wedding is right in the middle of August so big humidity. I think I'll just bite the bullet and pay for the airbrush makeup. At least the resort offers it now so I don't have to pay $800 to bring someone else, plus their fee. We do get some perks with our TA and get the trial and makeup for free. I'm guessing this is the normal makeup but perhaps I can upgrade it for a smaller fee.

Since you can get it on site I think it may be worth it.

I can't, so I am going to be happy with regular makeup!

and truth be told, I didn't even know of airbrush makeup before this site!

I went from doing everything myself, to getting it done in the salon with a trial, ha!

I know what you mean. If they didn't have it I would go for regular makeup for sure or even just doing it myself. I know there's a whole science about concealer when you're taking pictures so that you don't end up with weird shadows but I'm not sure how to do that.

Hi ladies. I want to hear whether some of you have had airbrush makeup before, whether for your wedding or other events. Did you think it was worth the extra money? I know it's hard for makeup to stick with the heat and humidity of the tropics, but will airbrush really solve that problem?

@@TinkerSofi I have seen many Brides, Airbrush when It is done with quality It remains during the whole day, also for some days after iF you keep it, It look fresh all the time, I always recommend my brides to do it, as they look and beautiful they are confident and that make them happy, when they are happy all looks like that, also the pictures :)

Good luck!!

that's great! That's what I wanted to know :). It turns out it might just be worth it, especially since I don't have to hire anyone from the outside and pay the outside vendor fee :)

That make sense, what some can do also is see If the make up artist has a studio or beauty salon and go out to do the name up and hair, depending on where your resort is and the beauty salon is It may be less expensive than bring them to your resort and pay the Outside Vendor Fee :) good luck!

  • 4 weeks later...

I got airbrush at home for engagement pictures and it looked great. So I am splurging on Styling Trio for hair/airbrush (with the top artist, Adrian, it is $550 including a trial). DRC doesn't offer airbrush so I'm hoping to get around the stupid fee...nickel and dime for EVERYTHING!

Good to know! Sometimes hotels will make an exception for the fee when they dont offer that service. Mine does now so I have to go with then but I heard good things about their salon so I'm not so worried anymore. Also, since I speak the language it's easier to make myself understood as to what I want. I'm hoping that will help :)
