Second Guessing The Dress

Recommended Posts

There has been quite a few threads on this, believe it or not.

Did you have the dress back on since it came in? I would suggest that, sometimes you need to get it back on to realize how much you do love it.  Also, why did you love it and purchase it in the first place?  Try to remind yourself of that.

If you really just can't wrap your head around it then maybe you could go out and look again.

I just believe there will always be another, we can love more than one thing.  So be careful because you don't want to end up buying 5 dresses :)

Good luck.

I had the same issue. It had been 5 months since I had seen the dress and had every nightmare known to man kind about it. I couldn't have been more panicked about my dress. Went and put it on, had it altered to fit perfectly and loved it even more than the day I first tried it on. I think all brides second guess their choice. We have so much pressure on us to be perfect!!

Go try it on, remind yourself of all the reasons you love it. If you still can't find the reason why you bought it then go looking again.

I bet you're beautiful in your dress and it will be perfect!!!

Thanks! I already called the store and made an appointment to try it on again next week and also look at some other dresses. I just think i picked a dress that's the wrong cut. I look at pictures of myself in another dress I tried on and feel like the cut on that one (slim a-line) is so much better. I feel like mine has too much poof and not enough other detail.

And congrats!!! I see you just got married. Hope it was everything you dreamed of!!!

I hope everything works out with you dress.  I'm having a similar issue.  I think I have found the dress and when I have it on I think it is the dress but then I keep looking at pictures and then I talk myself out of committing to it.  I know I need to just decide pretty soon...

I hope that your fitting goes well!

I had the exact same issue. I had the dress at home, but unaltered. I absolutely loved the dress when I bought it. I didn't try it on for months, and then I started to re think my choice of dress. I figured it was something all brides go through, and I began getting accessories to match it. I tried them all on , and I still wasn't convinced... even with the dress pinned in all the right places.

I started to panic about it all. So I spoke my sister, and she convinced me that's its okay to change your mind, and she took me to look at other dresses.... I'm so glad I did!!! I found the perfect dress( sadly out of my budget) but I happen to know an amazing dressmaker, who was able to re create my perfect dress!!

I say go with your gut feeling on this.... if you aren't happy now, imagine how unhappy you'd feel wearing it on your big day. Its okay to change your mind!!! Good luck!!!!!!

Well, I believe I am the queen of changing dresses......I changed my mind two times.  Luckily, I purchased from David's Bridal who will allow you to exchange the dress as long as it is the same or greater price.  So I finally found "the dress", it is sexy, has bling and I look absolutely amazing in it.  I also cried a ton of tears this time when I tried it on.  I just knew this time and I know without a doubt that I have the right dress.

Having said all of that, it is okay to change your mind.  It all works out in the end.  :D

I recently went back to David's Bridal (where I bought my dress) to look at bridesmaids dresses. I almost cried in the store because I saw dresses that were just soooo pretty, probably even prettier than my dress! Even though my dress is beautiful…I am starting to question maybe if I looked around more I could have found something even better :/

I am starting to second guess the dress I ordered, which has also unfortunately come in WAY ahead of schedule. Has this happened to anyone else here? How did you handle it?

I am a victim.

I went through 2 designer dresses, and now I'm in love and sold on a vintage Jessica McClintock wedding dress I found at a thrift store for $25.

I am currently selling my Oleg Cassini, for way cheaper than I bought it.  I was first in love with Oleg Cassini CLR277, traded it in due to it being way too heavy for a Mexico wedding.  Got Oleg Cassini CWG482, and it's really not me.  It's gorgeous, but I'm really not traditional.

Best advice, STOP LOOKING!! KEEP YOUR EYES CLOSED TILL YOUR WEDDING DAY!!!

I went dress shopping 9-10? months before my wedding.  BAD IDEA!
