Did anyone do the preview promotion at moon palace, or any other palace resort? We're going down in May to check out the resort and I'm so excited! We already have the wedding booked for October but I can't wait to see where it will actually be happening! Our coordinator is supposed to be setting up meetings with the different vendors we can use and a food tasting. I was wondering if anyone else did this and how much you were actual able to plan while you were there? I'm hoping to get a lot of details figured out while we're visiting, it seems like it should be easier than the back and forth emails with the coordinator . Anyway, I was just looking for any advice of things to check out/plan while we're down there!

@@colleentf09 I'm so jealous! We aren't able to take advantage of the promotion but agree that it would make wedding planning to see everything first hand. Please post tons of pics and include a detailed review, especially of the food choices

Hi All, thank you for creating this Forum! So helpful! & congrats to everyone!!

We're set for July 3, 2016 symbolic ceremony at Moon Palace. Seems far away but lots to do! Right now, we're trying to get a list of the approved vendors, but it's like pulling teeth... We received the dropbox link, but it only includes: Audiovisual-JSAV*, Decoration-GAMA, Optional Flowers-Palace Resorts, Fireworks-Promedsa, Live Entertainment-Tempo Consulting, Hair & Makeup-MVP, Precios, Styling Trio, Photographer-DreamArt, Photobooth-La Cabina.  I've seen others have gone with vendors that are not on this list, but may also be approved? Can anyone reply with a list of anyone else who is approved/who we are missing? *Seems like DiscoMovil may be worth the fee! Is PSAV approved?

Also, has there been any resolution to the $400 family-member photographer charge? We have multiple people who will have SLR cameras and multiple cousins who actually are photographers... how do they distinguish between "professional photographer" and family member who is also a photographer?

Thanks so much all!

Hi @@nelmo, congrats on securing your date and venue!!! Have you been appointed your offsite coordinator?

Ok so when it comes to approved vendors, all Palace brides have run into the same problem you have, which is not getting the full list of approved vendors. I know that a lot has changed in the wedding department so before contacting anyone on the list I write down, confirm with your coordinator that they are still an approved vendor. If they are, save that email in case the company no longer becomes approved come your wedding date. They will honour this and not charge you fees! So the list I know of (which may be dated) is:

Audiovisual: JSAV and PSAV

Decoration: Gama, Zuniga and LatinAsia

Flowers: Palace and LatinAsia

Live Entertainment: a Tempo Consulting

Hair and Makeup: Palace salon, Styling Trio and MVP

Photographer and videographer: Dreamart

Photo booth: La Cabina

Now this list may not be complete so any other palace bride, feel free to add or delete to this list.

In terms of the family photographer, I'm sorry I have no idea. We hired an outside vendor.

Hi All

I am getting married on 26th May 2016.

I am waiting for a response from Tempo Consulting regarding a better price on harpist etc. Is anyone else using them for any live entertainment?

I am using Dreamart for photography but it does seem quite expensive - I think!, but they have done me a bit of a deal and the photos and videos do look great.

@@tbone12 - Alejandra is also my wedding coordinator, I have emailed her today and I haven't had anything back yet so I am assuming it has been delivered. I will let you know if I hear anything.

@@nelmo I was told by my onsite that if its a family member/guest using professional equipment then you can be charged the $400 fee. If they are using a regular video camera/ photo camera or phone then no charge. My worry is my grooman has a good quality camera and a tripod he was going to bring to use for filming our weeding. so we will see.

The reason behind this is because of past brides on sites like this one and Facebook stating how they were going to just hire an outside vendor and book them a 1-2 night stay to get out of paying the full $800 vendor fee. Resort caught on to this so this is a way for them to deal with it.

If they ask who is doing your photo/video just tell them no vendor just family taking it. But I would bring extra money just in case it is pro equipment and they charge you when you check out.
