Question for you ladies, will you get married in Canada and have a symbolic ceremony in Mexico?

Yes. Privately in canada night before we leave and then symbolic in Mexico

Yes. I don't want my ceremony to be in Spanish, and I would rather have a family member conduct a secular symbolic ceremony in English than take a risk and end up with a religious Spanish one.

Most resorts will do the ceremony in English. I don't think anyone does it in Spanish is you don't speak Spanish

Nope. The information from the resort clearly states that legal ceremonies must be conducted in Spanish. The wedding coordinator translates it into English for you.

I am not from Canada, but I am getting married at home before the symbolic ceremony at the Barcelo. We are getting married the week before we leave, but will only celebrate one wedding date, and that is our DW date. (As well as ONLY saying vows at our DW).

Good for you acosta! We were originally going to have a legal ceremony in Mexico. However we were told we had to be there three business days early (so we were going wed, for a sat wed), and apparently this info was incorrect. So we just switched to a symbolic ceremony. But more power to you for going through all those hoops!

Ohh ok sorry didn't get the legal part, then that would make sense . I guess my head was somewhere else given the topic of this thread haha. Brain fart!

We'll be getting married at home before as well. It's just way easier
