Typical Price For An All Inclusive?

Hi All!

 

I am wondering if you all can share the typical prices for all inclusive resorts in MoBay you have stayed at or know others who have. I am looking at Sandals but my Mother got pretty upset/concerned  that people would not come because the rate I saw was $250 per person per night. She thought that was too high. I will be honest I thought that was high too but I never stay at all inclusive resorts  but I see how it is cost effective bewtee all the food, liquor, activities it is worth it/ most cost effective than a la carte resort. I am hoping to have 10-20 rooms booked (preferrably 20 b/c the group rate add in for 20 rooms is great). But I felt that was a pretty standard rate. Including air fare it should run guests about $1,000.00 per person for 4 days/3 nights.  I think that's on the low end for a destination! Am I wrong?

I usually pay $1200-$1600 for one week.

I think 1000 for 4 days is reasonable for an all inclusive in paradise! I mean once you pay that money that's it! They don't need to bring any cash if they don't want to! I'm making sure to mention that fact in my invitations. All food & liquor included!

Are you in canada or US? This will have be a huge factor since pricing is done differently. Also time of year and star level of resort. We are staying at a 5 star during high season and it is $2000/pp. (taxes, flights and transfers for 7 days included)

Our resort is around $200pp/pn based on double occupancy. That includes all taxes and transportation to/from the resort. It is a tiny bit more than my fiance and I have spent when we've gone to an all-inclusive on our own, but that seems to be because Jamaica is a little more expensive than Mexico where we normally go. We also looked at our guest list and people are going to use it as their vacation - and they wouldn't pick the very cheapest resort for themselves! But rates at the same resort are lower at other times of year.

Exactlyyyy because when I go (I go a few times a year because I have family there) and stay at a small hotel for say $79-99 dollars a night it only includes breakfast but by the time I pay to go to the beach, get a chair and umbrella, have lunch, a fewwwww drinks, and dinner later that adds up too! Not to mention the airport taxi. I am sorry i've never tried one before. I just want people tos ee it that way too!

ugh It drives me nuts when people say 200-250/night is too expensive for an AI. YES, it's a lot of money. BUT the average hotel is 150/night (so lets say $75 per person per night). Then include 3+ meals at a nice restaurant (say $75 per person per day), unlimited drink ($50+ throughout the day - probably way more considering people are ordering fancy frozen mixes), service poolside/on the beach/room service all day AND the fact that it's probably a very nice resort.... suddenly the price doesn't seem so crazy. And the pure peace of mind knowing you can eat/drink/lounge endlessly while enjoying a safe & gorgeous resort, without paying for things in the moment is such a nice touch.

We are also talking about a Sandals resort!!  The cream of the crop! 

Personally I think it's a good price when you factor in everything you get.

 

I am in Canada and our packages work differently  (we get airfare, hotel, taxes, and transfers to/from airport included in our price). My guests are paying $1565 for 7 nights in January for a 5*.  Personally it's probably more a 4.5* but they advertise as a 5*.  I have paid as little as $1400 and as much as $1700 for 7 nights.  Location, season, etc. all plays a role.

 

For Jamaica and a Sandals resort, I don't think it's absurd!

Oh WOW that's about the same because its for 7 days! Im in the US! Which hotel/resort are you staying? I think $1,000 is decent at Sandals because they include all food,drinks, and transfers as well. They also let you visit all 3 well not 2 resorts for free.

Ohh Iberostar Rose Hall Suites Montego Bay is on my wedding vision board!!!! lol I didn't realize they were less expensive than Sandals! I thought they were over $300 pp/pr?! Sandals is really selling me on the free wedding reception with 10-19 rooms booked. I don't think any of the other resorts are than generous!

Oh excellent!!! Are most of your guests staying 7 days? We don't plan to stay that long 5 days max we are thinking honeymoon in Cuba quick flight over then back to JA and home to the US! I read yesterday its good to get your marriage lisc at home before hand so you don't have to worry about the waiting period. Tech'ly it would be more of a renewal vs a wedding different fees too. I always planned to do both because of how long they said you have to wait for the lisc. anyway!
