I ended up sending my invites mid-October and matched the RSVP date to the booking deadline.  We only received 54 out of 150 rsvp cards back (both regrets and accepts), but we did have about 90 people booked by the deadline.  I guess I'll have to call people and ask them their meal preference since they can't seem to return an already stamped envelope!  That was a nice waste of money/time.

In my experience with talking to other destination brides that I know, it seems like it is the norm to send out the STDs about a year in advance and the invites like 5-6 months in advance, with RSVPs

Lol I didn't do std and invites... Just one set,,, and did them 18 months in advance! Hahaha! Wasn't too early for my guests! I have 80 booked and they appreciated the time to save!     Sent from

I have been wondering the same thing.  We sent save the dates about 10 months before (after already emailing or talking to our guests) and only a handful have booked.  I was planning to send the invit
