@@MichelleT No  worries I knew what you meant :) As of this morning I officially confirmed with the mwedding coordinator, Meriam, at the Sandos Cancun that they have our wedding date avaialbel and in the process of moving all the rooms for me. She also asked me to send over everything i have arranged with Lupita since there is no interent or cell service into cabo. I joined a group on facebook that is farely accurate with updates and it looks like it may be weeks before they are ready to take any sort or guests. I have spent the afternoon contacting airlines and thye have been more than helpful, all have waived transfer fees for me. I also am looking for a photographer. I am really worried though I might lose my deposit with the photographer in Cabo. Thayt would be a lot of money to be out, but In the end all that matters is that my wedding happens, everyone has fun and is safe. Praying for those in Cabo.

@@MissMarissa i would contact the Hilton Coorporate office. I think the Hilton received significant damage. I'm not trying to upset you I just want you to have time to make arrangements. Also they are without electric, food , gas and water at this point and many of the roads are un driveable. They are advising tourists to stay home since the can barely accomodate the people of Cabo. The airlines have all been wonderful to work with. If you need anything let me know. I know this is SUPER stressful, but your guests will understand no matter what happens, this is completely out of your control. All that matters is that you will get to marry your fiance and you will have a beautiful wedding. I promise it will all work out. Best of luck to you!

Thank goodness @@DVon18.  I am so happy that Sandos is accommodating your changes as you are right, all that matters is that your wedding happens and that you and your guests have fun and are safe.  You are doing a fantastic job of shifting gears right now.

I was so stressed yesterday and my FI put it into perspective, he said we have 5 months until our wedding and if it ends up being the two of us and our 4 kids so be it, but we are going to get married in Cabo and that is what is important in the end.

Hi Ladies,

I am scheduled to get married at Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas on December 6th.  I have not heard anything from my wedding planner, just an update from the website to call their call center regarding reservation.  Has anyone heard about future bookings for Riu?

@@DVon18 I appreciate the support, and of course know you weren't trying to upset me.  If anything I've been trying to find out more about what is really going on and get a more realistic picture for myself.  I've been following enough twitter and instagram photos to have a good sense of how bad things were anyway.  Definitely a disappointing and stressful time, especially when the resort hasn't reached out at all and we've been calling their corporate line daily asking for updates, and have gotten virtually nothing.  (In fact, I only learned from a guest who only just got out of the hotel and home that the resort wasn't planning on opening until months after my planned wedding).  I'm so glad to hear you were able to switch everything and it all seems to be relatively smooth. It gives me hope  :)

You mentioned reaching out to a few airlines and they waived all of the fees.  Were all of your guests coming from the same place on the same airlines or were they from all over the place?  We have guests coming in from Israel and Singapore (among many other locations) and so I'm hoping to be able to mitigate any extra expense or frustration with their airlines for them as well, but I'm worried that not sure every airline (or every travel aggregator) will honor the situation and waive their fees.

Hi odile brides.... I'm supposed to get married on October 17 at hotel el ganzo in San Jose. No phone, no power, heard nothing. Guests getting antsy, watching the news. I cried all night last night, because it's just so frustrating.

Thanks for having this outlet for me to vent. I really hope stuff gets cleaned up in next couple weeks.

My wedding was supposed to  be held at Villa del palmar and arco on 10/3..... it said it had minimal damage but from what I've seen in pictures, it doesn't look minimal. A travel agent has advised we cancel all together. many of my guests have booked a while ago and they may not get refunds on their flights since their travel dates falls outside their time frame which I feel terrible. i hope they can get their money back. I havent heard any word back from both resorts and its just devastating to go out there for a wedding when they have much more to worry about. People have lost everything.

I hope everyone here gets the wedding they have all hoped for. my prayers goes out to all tourists and locals in Cabo right now. Cabo is such a beautiful place.....

@@Cooperfluff, first, I am so sorry that you are having to endure this type of stress a month before your wedding.  I saw a posting on Facebook, https://www.facebook.com/hotelelganzo which provides very little information, but at least the hotel has made a couple of statements.  The hotel also seems to be posting on twitter, https://twitter.com/HotelElGanzo other than these two posts there is really nothing I could find.

Hi Ladies,

First i want to say to the future Cabo Brides stay positive and Strong. I know planning a wedding is very very stressful and now you have this to worry about =( My heart is with you guys. I just wanted to give you some updates about Cabo =( Since my wedding at Dreams 4 months ago me and husband have became very close friends with all my vendors. I have contacted them all to see how everyone was doing and Thank God they are all OK. They have told me that Cabo suffered some very very bad damage (the worst they have ever seen) and they are running out of food and water they may have enough for a week. I want to help but as of now there is no way for me to help because they are getting no help from the outside =( me and my husband want to help so badly =( So they advised me as soon as they hear anything they will let us know. My heart is aching for them down there. They are just getting the tourist all out safely now (I seen some pictures and its hurts my heart to see Cabo that way) Really heart breaking. I know allot of resorts cant get back to people quickly because of the lack of electricity and allot of other things. Im not sure how long Cabos will be back to the beautiful place it was but the pictures are devastating and the people in Cabo are Strong and hard working people and they will rebuild!!! Please keep them all in your prayers. The airport is also closed to further notice. The airport is in super BAD Shape. Thousands of people lost there homes as well. I know some resorts are offering future brides (sister resorts) i also believe they are also letting you cancel your reservations without any penalty and allowing future brides to change there wedding dates. ( I saw this for Dreams but more than likely all resorts will probably be the same)

I hope this was some type help and sorry if I said things you guys probably didnt want to hear but i know i would of wanted to hear this if my wedding was coming up. =(

To all my future cabo brides STAY STRONG, STAY POSITIVE AND VERY HOPE FULL!!!!!  and Remember the lord will never put us thru anything we cant handle!!! I wish you ALL  the best of Luck with your upcoming weddings and that they will be just as beautiful as you visioned your special day to me!!! =)
