Floating Lanterns For Pool....

Recommended Posts

I'm just wondering if anyone has had floating lanterns at a pool reception at a resort?  I was thinking about doing this as we are doing the reception pool side.  We're having minimal decor, but I thought it would add some nice ambiance to it all.

I haven't asked my WC about it, but I can't imagine it would be an issue?

I want to do this also but I am concerned that some guests (or I....) may jump in the pool and I don't want to ruin the lanterns and be responsible for paying for them... just to rent them is quite expensive so I don't imagine buying them would be cheap

It's allowed at Karisma resorts... Just be aware that they tend to "move" through the pool so if it's a large pool, they may disappear before the end of your reception. A good idea is to get anchor weights on them that will keep them in place and not float down the pool.

They aren't that bad really - you can get 10 for $20 on Amazon:  http://www.amazon.com/thu-WATLAN10-Water-Lanterns-pack/dp/B005GJETCU

That's a good idea - we have a small pool but the set up for the reception will likely be on one end only so a little weight may be beneficial!

as with all wedding deco, cheaper to buy than to rent, of course, lol. Thanks for the info! It looks like these may be packed small enough to bring to Mexico rather than rent. I don't want to bring too many things because our trip is about 3 weeks and our clothing alone will take up a couple bags, but these might make the cut for things to pack instead of rent. I think they are so pretty and help with ambiance
