Man I wish I could do it.....I just know with my family it would be me explaining it to everyone and then them complaining about having to find white outfits. lol Just more work than I want to deal with now.  I was planning on adding it to our pre travel packets as well but oh well.  I finally get my brochure's in tomorrow from vistaprint and then I can mail out everyone their pre travel documents, brochure and luggage tags and cross one more thing off my to do list.   :D

I posted them in a thread a while ago! :)  Let me find the link for you

Yes, this summer has been completely disappointing with the cold weather and all of the rain - This whole year has been a pretty bad one for weather actually. Definitely makes me look forward to Mexico even more!  Your driving/flooding story sounds awful! We were actually glad we ended up just staying in town this weekend because of the whole Burlington bridge fiasco/detour. And it was kind of a nice peaceful long weekend. Definitely hope the labour day weekend is nicer - esp. because I think you go in for your surgery right after that?

Haha there's nothing really to it other than a party where everyone wears white :P.  I love the way it looks though, and I think it's fun to have a themed party.  We're having our welcome white party on the beach - and we're going to get a cigar roller. I love this image:

Your welcome party sounds like its going to be so much fun!! We wanted to do cigar rollers for the reception but opted to just buy cigars and have a lounge section with cigars set up for the guys and do a photo booth instead.

@@acw271011 - I hope everything goes well and it doesn't get delayed! Will definitely have you in my thoughts. Then you can start planning your vow renewal in earnest :)

Your hubby always sounds so supportive and amazing.  I always remember the story you tell of your wedding in Jamaica, and how he said it's really just about you and him.

@@NJBride2014 - Haha my family has complained too, but I basically told them to suck it up :P. I told them they can wear shorts, tshirts, anything - it doesn't have to be fancy.  My mom loved the idea luckily, and she basically went and immediately bought white pants for my dad and brother, and a dress for herself. I think it'll be fun - hopefully everyone does participate!

Like you, we really want people to have a good time. I hope our welcome party is fun. My FI is big into cigars, so this is something he got really excited about.  I think we'll prob head out to Coco Bongo that night too, so it should be a blast.  We'll prob. do the same for our actual reception as you with the cigars.  Prob no budget for a photo booth, becuase we're thinking of maybe doing a fire show or mariachi band or something, but have to see how much it will all cost! And yay for crossing something off your list! I am still waiting for the rest of the installments in your planning thread :)

@tygrrlily  Thank you! I'm on the same page. Let's just get this show on the road and move forward! The sucky part is actually the timing if there is no delay. lol  I get to go back to work just when it's going to start getting cold and getting ready to snow!!! If I had any say in things I would have said hold on a minute. I want the winter off!!!! lol

I am being completely honest when I say I really got lucky second time around. I am more in love with this man 13 years later than I thought possible. When things went nuts with the hospital stay the last time, he spent nearly 10 hours every day there for more than a week. We travelled separately this past weekend because he gets 7 weeks vacation a year soo I'll never compete with that. Anyway, I get there and he has wine already and an awesome fire going. Yep - I think I'll keep him! lol

So who invented a white party? Or where did it originate? Or what's the meaning behind it?? With the people that may be travelling with us.... lol there is NO way I would even try to get them to do this!!! lol

I'm with @NJBride2014  This would just be one more thing that would be a headache!! lol

@@acw271011 - I have no idea the meaning or origination haha. Luckily, we haven't really had any resistance to the white dress code. If anything, it's been more my FI whining haha but we got him pants finally so now he can't complain :)

@tygrrlily  Your pics are wonderful!! I don't know why you would have any kind of regret over any of them!! They're gorgeous and I love the different dresses your wore. I don't think any of them are cheesy at all!!

@@acw271011 - Thank you!! Haha I posted the nicer ones... we have more that are quite a bit cheesier :).  I think I'm just super critical about myself.  We're happy overall though, and we're glad we did it because we also now know what we prefer for our wedding shots
