There's a butterfly release?! so cool haha. Even though I feel bad for the butterflies being trapped until they're released.

I have no idea what I'm doing either haha so I'm just posting as I go :P

I love the rafia fans! but I think I'm just going to get regular ones at Michael's so I don't get dinged so much with the shipping and custom charges.

Neither of us are very big on DJs, so we have opted for this alternative. It is extremely loud and durable (it is designed like an amplifier), and it comes with a microphone (great for speeches).
The goalie on my fiance's soccer team brings his to games...this thing has power!
Plan is to carry on the plane with us :)

Mini Beach Balls

Both were ordered from http://www.orientaltrading.com. I also used retailmenot.com and got $5.00 off purchase and free shipping.
These are supposed to arrive around March 4th.

Review:

I like the fans - my plan is to add ribbon and some kind of message to each one. I want these on the chairs for the ceremony as I had posted in previous photos.

The mini beach balls are ok - they are a little oddly shaped..and I'm not thrilled about Oriental Trading's name on the center of them - I want to put a sticker of something over them, but they were fairly priced, got here quickly, so I can't complain too much.

This is what we've come up with, so far. I'm sure there will be a few revisions, but I thought I'd share this. Please feel to give suggestions  :) (Like most brides, I did get help from one of the forums on this site.) I need to add some transitions words to make everything flow a little better, but I think this is a good first start.

Ceremony:

The Procession - This is the part where everyone walks down the aisle and takes their places for the ceremony. You each make your way to the altar separately, symbolizing the fact that you're coming from different backgrounds.
*Jake's cousin will play "A Love Idea" on the violin.*

The Officiant's Opening Remarks

“Please be seated.”

“On behalf of Tricia and Jake, I welcome you and thank you for gathering here on this beautiful day to witness their marriage ceremony. The fact that you have traveled such a great distance to be here today is a testament to the amazing amount of love and support they have.”

“The marriage between Tricia and Jake does not mark the beginning of a new relationship; rather, it is an acknowledgement and celebration of a relationship that has been flourishing since they met.”

The Charge to the Couple

“You have known each other from the first glance of acquaintance to this point of commitment. At some point, you decided to marry. From that moment of "yes" to this moment of "yes," you have been making promises and agreements in an informal way. All those conversations that were held riding in a car or over a meal or during long walks — all those sentences that began with “When we’re married” and continued with “I will” and “you will” and “we will” — all those late night talks that included “someday” and “somehow” and “maybe” — and all those promises that are unspoken matters of the heart. All these common things, and more, are the real process of a wedding.

“The symbolic vows that you are about to make are a way of saying to one another, “You know all those things we've promised and hoped and dreamed — well, I meant it all, every word.””

Look at one another and remember this moment in time. Before this moment you have been many things to one another  — acquaintance, friend, companion, lover, dancing partner, and even teacher, for you have learned much from one another in these last few years. Now you shall say a few words that take you across a threshold of life, and things will never quite be the same between you. For after these vows, you shall say to the world, this is my husband, this is my wife.”

The Exchange of Vows

*We are writing our own vows*

The Ring Exchange

"Jake, as you place this ring on Tricia’s finger, please repeat after me:
On this day…
I marry my best friend…
The one who shares my life, my love, and my dreams.

Tricia, I give you this ring
As a symbol of my love and devotion.
I offer you my heart, my hand, and my love.
I join my life with yours
To cherish and protect you as my wife.

With all that I am…
With all that I have…
I honor you as my wife forevermore."

"Tricia, as you place this ring on Jake’s finger, please repeat after me:
On this day…
I marry my best friend…
The one who shares my life, my love, and my dreams.

Jake, I give you this ring
As a symbol of my love and devotion.
I offer you my heart, my hand, and my love.
I join my life with yours
To cherish and protect you as my husband.

With all that I am…
With all that I have…

I honor you as my husband forevermore."

Engagement ring

“The engagement ring is a symbol of promise and intention. Now, the intention is realized and the promise is fulfilled. Jake, please place the engagement ring on Tricia’s finger over her wedding band to symbolize that the love that brought you together will always protect and sustain your marriage.”

Sand Ceremony
“This relationship is symbolized through the pouring of these two individual containers of sand. One, representing you, Tricia, and all that you were, all that you are, and all that you will be, and the other representing you, Jake, and all that you were and all that you are, and all that you will be. As these two containers of sand are poured into the third container, the individual containers of sand no longer exist, but will be joined together as one. Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual containers, so will your marriage be.”

The Pronouncement of Marriage

“Tricia and Jake, remember to treat both yourself and each other with respect, and remind yourselves often of what brought you together. Give the highest priority to the tenderness, gentleness, and kindness that your connection deserves. When frustration, difficulty, or fears assail your relationship, as they threatened all relationships at one time or another, remember to focus on what is right between you. In this way, you can ride out the times when clouds hide the face of the sun in your lives, remembering that even if you lose sight of it for a moment, the sun is still there. Give to one another new experiences of joy. Challenge one another so that you may grow. May the love you hold for each other, now sealed in marriage, continue to mature with the passing years. May you never take each other for granted, but always experience the wonder of your union. Be slow to anger, quick to forgive, leaving no tracks of resentment behind each day.

We, who are present today, hope that the inspiration of this moment will never be forgotten. May all your days and years to come be filed with vision, joy, and passion. May the love you now share continue to grow, and may the happiness you bring to each other be a continuing part of your life together. May you continue to laugh often and enjoy each other every day, steadfast in hope and confidence, believe in yourself and believing in each other. May your love be a sanctuary and a source from which you draw strength to live your lives with enthusiasm and imagination. May the people you touch in your lifetime know how much you love and care for one another and may you love one another forever."

The Kiss

"With family and friends, I have the pleasure of announcing you as Mr. and Mrs. ___
You may share your first kiss as husband and wife."

The Closing Remarks

“The newlyweds now invite you to continue celebrating at the Jacuzzi with cocktails, followed by the reception at the Deck.”

The Recessional

We will exit the ceremony together as husband and wife, followed by the wedding party.

*Music to be decided."

@@acw271011 Thank you! Any suggestions? Did I miss anything...does it seem too long?

Do you mean custom charges from purchasing online and having it shipped to you?

...If not, I didn't even think about custom charges and taking stuff in to Mexico.... :o
