Who Does Everyone Plan To Take Dress Shopping With Them?

Is it still the tradition to take your mom dress shopping with you?

Or is it your bridal party gals?

I'm thinking I'll take my mom, my one sister who is a bridesmaid, and my 15yr old daughter who is also a bridesmaid.

should I feel guilty I'm not taking MOH or other 2 bridesmaids?

Honestly, I have no idea what I'm going to do. My family lives thousands of miles away, as does my bridal party. No one in our town is invited to our family only wedding, so it would be awkward to try and go with someone here. I might end up asking my future sister in law to go shopping with me in her town a couple hours away. In your case, I think you can invite whoever you want. I'm sure your family would love to go with you and I wouldn't worry too much about the other bridesmaids. I was my sister's MOH and I didn't go shopping with her. I saw the dress later when we went to the same place to get the bridesmaid dresses.

My first time down the aisle my mom didn't live in the same city and I went with my BMs... This time even though I plan on ordering a designer inspiration online-my mom is coming into town and so I have booked an appointment so her and I can have that experience, and it will allow me to try different silhouettes before ordering. I figured every mom wants to be a part of the process and wanted to do that for her (more than for me) this time around.

At this point all my mom is concerned about is the dress shopping experience. She cant wait for it. I will probably end up taking my mom and my sister in law and then extending the invite to my future mother in law and sister in law.

My mom passed away years ago so that never crossed my mind. My family and 2 of my BM's live 12 hours away.

I asked my bestfriend and she declined - and we basically haven't talked since. (long story!!)

So all that said, lol, I had 1 BM, my future sister in law, and 2 close friends.

Was a fantastic day, we had lunch and everything.   They made me feel so special and it was awesome.

I've been told to be careful to not take too many people. The more people the more opinions you have about YOUR dress. My sister was in town for a short period of time so went with her my mom and my sister in law. I didn't find anything but the next time I go will be my mom and my sister in law which we are very close. One of the first things my mom said after I got engaged was if she can go dress shopping with me. I think it depends on your relationships with people and who's opinions you value. I know my sister in law will be honest if it looks good or bad which I want and we have similar taste. Have fun! The one day we went was a blast and made everything more real :)

I took my mom, aunt, MOH and future MIL. I was grateful that they were so hopeful (maybe too helpful they loved me in everything). They also all cried once I tried THE one on. It was an emotional and exciting moment, one that should be shared with special ppl.

The first time I went shopping it was just my mom and I. Once I had it narrowed down, I went back with my mom and a girlfriend. I am way too easily influenced by others sometimes, and I knew that my mom would never try and talk me out of something I was in love with. I was a lot of fun to do that with her :)

I watched too many episodes of say yes to the dress that I have decided I'm only taking people who have my best interest at heart as they know me and know how important it is that no matter the dress it has to make me look as skinny as it can lol
