Hair Extensions - Help!

Recommended Posts

The ones I saw were also in pieces and matched exactly to my hair colour, I was amazed at how much like my own hair they looked. I think I would use them again afterwards as well, they look like a lot of fun.

Cherie, all we have to do is figure out what to do with them!

Ug, I just wrote a really long detailed post and the forum froze up! So here I'm going to try again!

Sorry it's taken me so long to post, but I just uploaded all of my pics. I have shoulder-length hair and it's very thick. I purchased Raquel Welch extension for $250, and they are real hair so they can be colored, cut, etc. I wore them for about 8 hours that day, and had a slight headache by the end of the day, but tolerable. They are super simple to use, and I'll definitely be using them again after the wedding. I can put them in myself, and taking them out is a breeze. My stylist put them all over my head, from the temples and a bit lower. She didn't use the singles, but that's probably b/c I have so much hair already! Hope this helps!

Here's a pic of my normal hair:

Here's what the RW extensions look like in the package:

And out of the package, there are a lot more than this, but I just took a few out to show you. The silver are combs that snap into place.

I bought my extensions last night and had some fun with them today, here is a before and after picture, I'm really pleased with how they look. I went for my dress fitting and ended up buying a tiara that I had no intention of getting, thought I would wear flowers in my hair but fell in love with the tiara.

I just noticed you picture with the hair extensions in...it added nice volume and looked natural. Remember to mix the extension throughout the hair and not just in the areas you feel is needed. It helps with it looking more natural and not so pieced in. Good choice in hairstyle. Cute tiara

I wish you a happy and beautiful wedding day

Mine are real hair, I took them with me to my hair stylist yesterday when I went for highlights and she said they were great and showed me how to put them in. When I got home I just played with the ones on the side, when I wear them on the wedding day the stylist will put them in for me, I just wanted to see what they would look like.

Karen - they look great!! And Jill, thanks for all the photos! I'm not sure if this is something I plan on doing. My hair is still a wee bit short (betweeen chin and shoulder length)... but we'll see. My stylist is going to play with it in January, and either it'll be long enough to work with, or I'll get an awesome cut and just get a really nice blowout for the big day.

Hi ladies,

I haven't been on this forum for a bit...sorry!

Well, I went and purchased some "real" hair from a salon. It is the POP kind in the lightest blonde available. I call it my "real, fake hair"! I have played around with it a little, and it looks kind of funny. My hair is poker straight...so my hair cuts off at the shoulder, and then drops off from there. I think you have to put some wave or curl in your hair and the extensions to make it more believable. That could be a problem for me, as my hair does not hold curl well. I'm not sure I'll be able to wear these again outside of the wedding! I think I'm going to make an appointment and have a hairdresser show me how to put them in properly. Has anyone else figured out the knack of making them look goodhuh.gif?
