Hi!! Eloping to Jamaica this December!!  I extremely nervous about what to do with my dress but my mind has been eased by other brides stating we can carry the dress on!  My new concern!! Can I carry my bouqet on as well?!?!!!!  A carry on suit case is going to be to shallow and I'm afraid putting it in a checked bag it would be destroyed by the time it arrived.  Any brides have any experience with this.  I was thinking maybe I could just let it stick out the top of my pocket book but dont want to run into issues with security and them make me leave it id be devastated!!  Suggestions or experiences would be appreciated!!

Silk/fake flowers are totally fine. They can also go in your main luggage and protected and then fluffed when you unpack- sounds like this bride wants to fly with fresh? If that's the case I wouldn't do it even if customs didn't take them- they would be out of water for so long and touching the petals would make them wilt!

Silk flowers/fake are fine. Real flowers are not ok to take into mexico. Make sure you keep the receipt for the bouquet ( and anything you travel with for the wedding) keep in an envelope in your carry on incase you get stopped at customs.

Definitely do not think you can carry fresh flowers into another country. I am doing fake flowers and packing them in my check in bag.

Completely agree with the replies above, fresh/real flowers will most likely be confiscated at the border. (That would be a terrible start to any wedding get-a-way  )

 

If they are silk there should be no issues, with customs, carry on or checked.

 

If taking as carry on I'd try finding a plastic container/tote with a sealing lid (like a Tupperware etc) that would fit the bouquet, with just a tad extra room, and use white tissue paper as cushioning around it. This should prevent it from being crushed and would prevent it from any accidental spills throughout the airport or if stored under the seat in front of you in the airplane (I've seen people and airline staff accidently spill beverages onboard many times before).
