Any Past/present Riu Palace Mexico Brides?

Recommended Posts

New to this site - love it! Are there any past or present 'riu Palace Mexico' brides?  Seriously considering this location and wondering what kind of experience anyone has had at any stage of their planning or wedding.

Thanks! xoxo.V

I just got back from staying at Riu Yucatan and spoke with the wedding coordinator about their wedding packages. We had a great time we just know the Palace is out of our price range for our guests. It is a beautiful resort and the beach is gorgeous! It depends on what type of atmosphere you want for your guests. We spoke to younger girls who were staying there and said it was almost too quiet there so they would come over to our resort for a more lively crowd. If you want a more relaxing, calm atmosphere then Palace is the one to go to!

@jsparrow10  Thanks for the information.  that's so smart that you did you a site visit.

I think that we have ruled out the Riu Palace Mexico.  I saw pictures of real weddings and I noticed that the beach wedding set up has a white fence that looks a little awkward in pictures.  Also, the beach set up is not up close to the water so you actually have people in beach beds facing your wedding ceremony and just watching and showing up in pictures.

The search continues...

The white fence you speak of itms the arch provided for weddings. You can pay to have a Huppah instead, which is what we did and it was absolutely beautiful!!

Oh also, no one in "beach beds" were watching our wedding!! Good luck to you!

Thanks for the info!  I noticed your wedding location was in Cabo.  I think the beach reception in Riu Palace Mexico, (playa del Carmen) is different.  We spoke with the WC and unfortunately they said there was nothing they could do about it being so public.

oh well!
