I was just wondering myself what do do about a Welcome get together...I wanted to arrange something for the first night we arrived so I could introduce everyone and give out the bags...I was thinking about just having it in the Lobby Bar and I was going to inquire about the price of some finger foods. BUT I just got our flight schedule and it looks like we don't arrive until 9pm so by the time everyone gets checked in and finds a room, it will be pretty late...some of my guests will be traveling from 5am!...thats a long day! We will be starving when we get there...I have no idea what to do about it!! Any Ideas? I know the sports bar has 24 / hr food...I have just sent an email to Carolina asking her whats the cost to have some finger food served while we check in.

As for the welcome get together My mom has suggested to do it as a brunch thing the first morning / lunch time instead...I want to do it as soon as possible so people can meet and get their bags.

I'm not sure about a rehearsal dinner either....we are having a private reception...so I'm wondering if we can use the included non private dinner for a rehearsal dinner.

What are your ideas so far??

how many bottles of pink moscato would you be bringing??? I don't know what the rules are on that but I'm pretty sure there is a limit on the amount of alcohol you can bring into a country...I don't think you will be able to bring that amount without hassel! Have you thought about using a local rum / or Cava (a Spanish Sparking Wine)  instead?

Wow you ladies have some absolutely beautiful ideas! The flower pics are gorgeous!!!

i would definitely look into the pink moscato very carefully. I don't think you're allowed to transport the alcohol into the country. Most countries are pretty tight about that kind of thing.

@@Kerrierf Happy wedding day!! i hope it went perfectly! you're officially a Mrs!

@@shevette925 i agree with the others. i think there is a limit to the amount of alcohol u can bring in.

@@Meandhim can u please post the link to the site that you saw that has small bottles of rum? i've seen dominican favors. is that the one you were talking about too?

It would probably be about 85-90 bottle of moscato, which is a lot. You all confirmed my suspicion. So I'll have to look into something local or purchasing something in the Duty Free shops. I may even see if I could split the bottles up between my bridal party and parents, but I need to do more research on that.

@@Meandhim, a welcome brunch sounds more realistic given how late your guest will be arriving.  You could consider having the hotel hand out your welcome bags so you dont have to hunt people down. But I know that can be pricey depending on how many total guest you have, I think its about 5-7 dollars per bag.

We were thinking about having a rehearsal dinner so that people who want to give short speeches but aren't on the program for the day of can have a chance to say a word and also to pass out our bags. But then you run into the conundrum of how to let the guest know to come to the dinner if they do not already have their itineraries for the weekend?

I asked my wedding planner to look into the possibility of reserving a small section of one of the buffet restaurants so that it will be informal and my guest can all sit together and grab their food. And that way we wouldn't have to pay for a private event or food.  Ill let you know what she says.

I think it is definitely worth it to ask Carolina about using the already included non-private dinner.

@@shevette925 are you using a separate wedding planner besides Carolina ?

Have you thought about sending out a pre- travel brochure mailer? You can include a tentative schedule, packing tips, etc. that way if people wanted to book separate excursions they have an idea if what days you have things planned. I'm doing one I think. Let me know the response on reserving a section of the buffet.

@@Meandhim it seems like that's the only company that does it, eh? The cheapest bottle is $6. I'm wondering if the vendors there sell them for less or if Carolina has any connections?

@@shevette925 have u set up a wedding website? That would be a great place to give your guests an itinerary beforehand and also give updates for other info about their trip like hotel rates, travel agent info, brunch/dinner, etc.

@@Meandhim  Yeah I have a wedding planner through my travel agency.  She's been really helpful because she speaks to the vendors on my behalf, reducing a lot of my stress. My work schedule is also really busy, so she keeps the ball rolling when I don't necessarily have the time. So its nice.

@@Jc14  I do have a wedding website, but I realized that a lot of our guests haven't really gone through the whole site, I'm hoping that once we get the official invites out that they will begin to use the website more actively. So I will be putting the most important activities on there and hope for the best and word of mouth.

The pre-travel brochure is definitely a cute idea. I'll probably pass on it though. My guests are pretty independent and would probably prefer to do their own thing outside of wedding events. Also I'm trying to save on paper products and things going into the mail.

Have you all sent out your official invites?

Hello! I have about 2 months away and I was just going very basic. But has anyone used the photographer from the hotel? And does anyone have pics from the beach bash?

Thanks
