I just finished watching an episode of ‘I found the gown’ on TLC. The bride to be lost her father when she was a child and had always kept a blue polo shirt that belonged to him, with his name written on it. The wonderful seamstress suggested she cut it out in the shape of a heart and sew it inside her dress so it matches her heart, that way her father’s heart would be with her throughout the day. This obviously made me cry…  I’m a big baby. But I’d love to find something like that for my FI and even do the same for his siblings and father.

I ordered my fiance's gift today. It's a funny shirt because (as I said above) he always references himself as a ninja lmao

Anyways I got it on eBay with shipping for about $24 Canadian. UK seller which I like as it gets here quicker than USA sellers which makes no sense.

I realize this is a silly gift and it's meant to be. I know 100% it will be a huge hit and he will have it on the next day!!!!!

Here's a pic

@@calgarybride2015 Love it! I wanted to get him something as a thank you for proposing. One of the first gifts I got him when we started dating was a beer mug of the Cleveland Browns with his name etched on it. I ordered from a vendor on Etsy who did an amazing job. I decided we would start a new tradition, for each major event in our lives we would get a mug or glass engraved as a souvenir. We got engaged right before we went to my first baseball game, I just ordered a beer mug of the Cleveland Indians with both our names and the date we got engaged. This is the etsy vendor https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/RmcEtching he's awesome.

Awesome. That's a great idea. I'm going to see about doing something like that too cause he loves beer and sports lol

  • 1 month later...

I love the mug idea!  I am planning on getting my groom a watch (although I know he'd rather me get him a PS4...not happening).

He has asked me what I wanted....What all are you ladies hoping for??

This past Christmas I got my fiance cufflinks that had the latitude and longitude of his home town (in Jamaica) engraved on them. We impose a $25 limit on Christmas gifts for each other, so I got them pretty cheap on Etsy. He LOVED them, but they broke right away :(

But cufflinks with the coordinates of your destination wedding would also make for a great wedding gift!

That's a cute idea!  I was just thinking about cuff links.  Or a watch, although he isn't a "watch person" but I guess used to be, till the last one broke.
