How Much Are You Spending On The Welcome Bag Itself?

Recommended Posts

Actually they were a little under $7 a bag. I got one for the mother of the groom and mother of the bride too.

@@kcole123 do you already have your rsvps in?  I am not sure how many to order, we have an idea of how many guests will go, but don't think I will have a solid number till the beginning of next year.

I have final numbers. I based this on people who have put their deposits down. the deadline was a week ago. And then I contacted those that didn't send in deposits to see if they are going but just booking on their own. So I got some numbers that way too. I didn't do the RSVP thing. So basically I know though who is going who is booked and who is not. So my total is 37 people.

Got it, we are sending save the dates this week.  But have already talked to everyone and sent a save the date email.  But the resort is still finalizing the room block agreement.  Really hoping to have everything done in the next week.

That's awesome @@Sabes44. That's when you can then start ordering some stuff you want for your guests. I basically didn't do anything until I had the final numbers. There still may be people I guess not able to go last minute.  But I expect that anyways. I will just have some extras probably if this happens. but better to have a little extra than not enough. Everything I ordered, I made sure to order a couple extras just in case people decide that they can go all of a sudden too. You just never know even though we have final numbers, those numbers will most likely either go up or down.

I orderd my canvas bags on bagiva.com I bought 40 for around $40.00 with shipping.  Then I just bought iron transfers from Michaels with coupons and printed out my logos and ironed them on the bag to customize.  The bags are pretty big and can fit alot of stuff.  For the hangover kits I bought everything with coupons at Sallys beauty store they take bed bath and beyond coupons at Sallys and they have a great travel section so I got the travel size stuff there.  I seriously used like 10 coupons, the guy thought I was crazy but it saved me a lot of money.  I also bought some stuff at the dollar store.  I think all together I spent $150 for 40 bags.  So under $4 a bag and that includes the hangover kit. I DIY almost all of my extras for the wedding.  I would look for inspiration online and then tried to see if I could do it myself for the cheapest price but still look good.  I did my own hangers, oot bags, maraca favors, bridal party shirts, bridal party etched shot glasses and I'm making my own fan/programs, menus and signs.  I actually like the challenge to see if I can make the same thing much cheaper lol.

I know my guests will appreciate the bags, I went to a destination wedding recently and there weren't any welcome bags or favors of any kind and I felt like it was missing.  I could have used some extra aloe and advil at times and also it would have been nice to know who was part of the wedding since the bag would have been a dead give away.  Just my opinion.

Good ideas!  Those look amazing for iron ons!  I found this super cute colored salt from esty and loved it, till I saw the price tag of  over $100!!  I searched around and now am doing them myself for $20 total.

Yeah Etsy is good for some things, other things I just use Etsy for inspiration and then try to do the stuff myself.  Here are my hangers, shirts, maracas and shot glasses.  All Etsy inspirations and all together probably spent around $200.00. If I would have bought everything through etsy it would have been over $500.

We are flying first class and with United my fiance and I can check in 2 bags each up to 70 lbs. and we get our carry ons as well.  I'm hoping to fit most of the stuff in our check in bags but my family has volunteered to use their free check in bags to bring whatever we can't fit.  My 3 sisters and mom are all only staying for 3 nights so they only need to pack their stuff on a carry on and will let me use their free check in bags.  I should be able to fit everything plus some extra decor but If we need to pay for one extra bag that will be alright. My resort won't let me ship anything and also its not recommended because there is risk of it not making there on time or just disappearing altogether.
