My Guests Are Booked - Should I Still Send Out Wedding Invitations?

Recommended Posts

I would send out invites if I were you. Like kmk2016 said, you can use it as a pre-information mailer. So you don't have to necessarily have the whole "request your presence" stuff but you can definitely still have a page with all of the wedding information on it.

We didn't bother with STDs, but just sent our invite out to everyone in April/May (100 invites or so). We are planning on sending out passport books with information to the people that have booked in October right after final payments are due. We have all of our wedding and event information info on our website, but we have some older guests coming that aren't as familiar with computers so we want to make sure everyone is on top of things. It'll also be a good way to raise excitement about the trip :)

I bought the template from Aylee too but I suck at DIY stuff haha. And the thought of putting together and printing all of the passports is a bit daunting to me, so I might just end up ordering them since we'll probably only need about 25 or so. Or if we do budget here, I might just send out a newsletter with all of the information. I want send luggage tags at this point too

The thought is daunting to me too! Where are you ordering your passports from?

I did boarding pass invites/stds that directed people to book and to our website... And am not planning on doing a formal invitation... BUT I am doing passports sent out to everyone who books, about 2 months before the wedding that details the plans of the wedding week and acts as an Invite/program/welcome letter.

**** I plan on doing the same thing. I do think that you should send them.

I was thinking the same thing. I have 36 people booked already and I only invited about 50. Buttt, I just love the passport invites, especially since I sent out boarding pass STD's. I was in the midst of making my own passports, but I think I may just order some (don't have the patience for printing, cutting, folding, ETC.) lol . I'm gonna use semi invite wording and add resort info, RSVP date for people that haven't booked yet, a reminder of the payment deadline date and the wedding day Itinerary. I figure it'll be kind of like an invite/+ info, so people who already booked wont look at it funny.

We sent out STD in the form of postcards directing ppl to our site and our TAs information. But 5 mos before the wedding we sent out passports just formally inviting ppl and it included an itinerary for the day.

I can't thank you all enough for your insight! <3

I want to send them out so I'm going to! :D

I think we've decided to send them BUT it won't be a formal invite...it'll most likely include the date the deposit is due and the wedding week itinerary.

Thank you so much ladies!

Happy planning! <3

I ended up deciding to make them myself to save some money here. So I spent the last week working on them from the Aylee template... had it pretty much exactly how i wanted. Then yesterday I SPILLED coffee on my laptop! It's drying out now and I am hoping and hoping that it isn't dead and I can access all of my wedding stuff :(. Hours down the drain otherwise

Oh no!!!!!! I am so sorry. I hope your lap top survives. My only advice would be to wait a few days and really make sure everything is dry before you try and turn it back on. Fingers crossed!!!!! Please keep us posted.
