Low Back Dress Vs Tan Lines

Recommended Posts

I have my heart set on a low back wedding dress (which one I'm not sure yet). We are getting married in Mexico during the summer. Any brides have any tips or experience with avoiding a bathing suit tan line in the back before the big day? I know I could lather on 100 SPF but don't think that would be enough in that sun!

Wear a different bathing suite everyday. If you're really serious about avoiding tan lines, change your suite mid-day. It'll prevent a really distinct line from developing.

I just got married in June. I went tanning at a tanning salon 4 times ( 7 minute stand up bed) to get a base tan. My dress was a very low U shaped back. I was so worried I would get horrible lines the week leading up to the wedding BUT I didn't get any tan lines. I wore 70spf the entire time and kept re-applying and I just made it a point not to "Lay out" in the sun without my cover up on,etc. It really ended up just fine since I got the base tan at tanning salon BEFORE coming to Mexico. I don't go tanning normally but it was worth it leading up to the wedding.

I love low back dresses! I have a list of a few designers and just have to decide which one!

I went to Mexico a few weeks ago. Before I went, I got a spray tan! I slathered myself with SPF everywhere everyday and didn't notice any tan lines

Gettinig a base tan before you go should help, and maybe consider wearing a light cover up to avoid getting any tan lines in your upper body.

i once tried covering up tan liines with sunless tanning lotion, and that didnt work for me because it made my skin two toned. There was the natural tan and then the fake tan - and they didnt match:-)

This very issue is part of the reason I convinced my fiance to go with a Thursday for our wedding date. That way I'll have the rest of the weekend with our guests and not have to worry about tan lines or eating/drinking too much! He is black and I am white - so he doesn't really understand tan lines - but he finally agreed :)
