i need help!! I've been reading lots of reviews and almost everyone talks about extra charges after 30-40 guest. We are estimating a big wedding. Maybe 80-100 guest. We wanted an all inclusive hotel to make it cheaper but seems that may not be the best bet. anyone had a big party?? what can you guys recommend?

Congratulations on your engagement!

You didn't mention when and where you and your guests are traveling from or where you are considering for your DW.

Travel costs can vary substantially before you even get to the hotel and many people say they want to go but are very difficult to nail down with a commitment of deposit money and airfare when it comes time to pay.

So, you may not have the issue you are concerned about.

In addition to what TAkathy said (which is totally true), many hotels offer incentives like free events or perks for weddings with large number of guests. You can still have some nice events taking advantage of these perks (consider this when choosing resort), and being smart. (Save money from hosting a private cocktail hour before dinner by designating a location on your AI resort for your guests to mingle at (for free) while you are getting photos done... Don't extend your reception for extra time ($$) and move to an onsite disco to keep reception going after your allotted time etc.

Don't worry- if you have more guests (which will be awesome but until they BOOK that can change), and plan a more relaxed/less expensive series of activities/events.

Definitely some great ideas! It is true that most packages in the hotel will be aimed towards 10-30 people. So if you are planning to go over this amount there is usually an extra fee per person. But still very manageable and still will save money in the end. Usually off the resort you need to consider atleast $100/person for food/drink.

If you ever have any questions let me know and I will be happy to help!
