How To Transport Your Wedding Dress?

I thought I'd share this article, as finding ways to transport my wedding dress was one of the biggest challenges that I faced, when I celebrated my destination wedding abroad.

We took a long flight into the Denpasar airport in Bali, and had to travel about 2 hours in a car ride, before we arrived at our villa in Ubud. I was so worried that my gown would crumple badly or be damaged during my travel!

Many airlines offer assistance with delicate garments, when flying. Just ask, some have special hanging places on the airplane. Hope I I am lucky to have a flight that does.

Please note that JetBlue will not put your dress in a closet on board. I had to fold my dress in half and put it in the overhead compartment. Although I was quite nervous the dress was fine. Just hang it up as soon as you arrive at your hotel.

I talked to the wedding Coordinator who assured me they could steam the dress. Mine I believ I could just hang up in a steamy shower and itll be fine, but I am ABSOLUTELY carrying it on board the plane with me... we do have a shuttle from the airport to Negril for a decent duration but its 5 days before the wedding.

@@atennille, I plan on doing the same - carrying it on with me. Will have to make sure that my hubby won't try to sneak a peak! :) But I guess after reading these posts I'll call my airline and confirm that this will not be an issue.

Lol mines hanging in my bedroom as the basement grosses me out and the kids rooms I don't trust :) I asked him if he could handle it. Have to trust me has.
