What Are Your Fitness Goals?

Recommended Posts

I'm happy that you're all feeling motivated! I know it's healthy and that's the way we should all be! Right? Easier said than done, huh? Yeah. I agree. My husband bought me a bicycle for my birthday a couple of weeks ago because I asked for one. Now I'm trying to convince him to get one too. You know monkey see monkey do? Well.... it's not working! lol I swear he's more stubborn than I am sometimes and believe me, that's saying something! But cycling gently is something that is allowed for my knees, which get injected every 4 months so I'm going to do what I can this summer, hope for the best after surgery, then hopefully next spring again get back to it. Nobody can ask of you more than you can give ladies. Do what works for you and like me, hope for the best!

Good luck to all of us!!

@@acw271011 I'm sorry to hear about you having to have surgery.  I hope everything goes well.  I love the point you made about the wedding dress models.  I talked about that a bit on my facebook.  It's hard to picture what I would look like in a dress when a size 0 model is wearing the dress.  Also I'm not 100% sure, but I was told swimming is a good form of exercise if you have certain concerns because it is easy on your joints and provides a total body workout.

Loving all these responses.  I still think it is important that we ladies love ourselves regardless of our size.  I just want to be the best me I know I can be on my wedding day and feel incredible too!

I just got a full-time job which takes me 2 hours to commute each way.  Not sure how to stay motivated or fit exercise in my schedule.  Any tips or advice would be appreciated.

I agree not really a good representation of how it will look. It's the same with bathing suits. I am ordering bathing suits from Victoria secret and every girl wearing them are tooth picks, that's not how I will look wearing it.
I personally don't struggle with weight but I just had a baby and would like to tone up a bunch before the wedding. My fiancé has gained much more and I am trying to motivate us both to help each other but he isn't into it much. I will keep trying though.
@@diadiamond I think it's great how much success you have had in the past, you defiantly have the motivation, it's tough when you end up back where you started. If you did it then you can do it now! I am a believer of the old fashion way eating well and tons of exercise but that's all I have ever needed. I do hear curves is really good from some friends who have lost tons of weight. I just keep thinking how beautiful I want to feel in my dress and on the beach and it's keeping me motivated :)

Thank you hun!  I will definitely look into Curves.  And your source of motivation is great.  I think I will do that too and maybe it will help!

Of course I could tell you to eat healthy and exercise as much as possible but I won't. I have personally went to my primary doctor for assistance on weight loss. I was prescribed weight loss medication and in a month I have lost 10lbs (I also try to exercise 5 dats a wk) .

My goal is to lose another 15lbs before September and to try to keep it off. I am currently 185lbs but just a year ago I was 173lbs. I tend to gain weight at rapid rates which is nuts to me because I don't eat unhealthy.

Hi Everyone!

I'm just wondering what your fitness goals are and how you plan to achieve it?

Weight has always been a struggle for me my entire life. I was always overweight. I got up to 265 lbs when I was 17 and then decided to join Herbal Magic where I lost 100 lbs. When I started University I gained 70 of the 100 lbs that I lost. At the end of University I got back up to 235 lbs and decided to make another healthy lifestyle change in my life. Through diet and exercise with a trainer I managed to lose 40 lbs. I went back to college and gained the 40 lbs that I lost.

I haven't booked my wedding yet, but we're hoping for the end of 2015. I'd really like to lose about 50 or 60 pounds. I feel so discouraged because I have gained and lost it so many times that I feel like I'm just bound to fail. I'm also torn between using another weight loss program or doing it the old fashioned way again.

I feel your pain 100%. I found myself at 280 after a twin pregnancy. Yo-yo'd for years and hated myself. Something finally clicked !! I joined my fitness pal and really started looking at what I was consuming. I also found exercise and have grown to love it. Never would have thought id be going 3 years strong at the gym. I've lost around 125 lbs. but I fail often and I feel discouraged often. I always gain over summer. It seems like from April on it goes up and up. It's a 100% forever battle for me because I know how easy I'll gain it back. I posted some pics in the other 'anyone use weight watchers' thread.

All I can say is you've done it before and you can do it again. Habits take time, ease in slowly (don't go hardcore overnight) you've got this!!!

Ps - I'm all for the old fashioned band wagon. Count calories, eat at a deficit and exercise. And throw in some splurges. I used to have a cheat day all thru my weight loss journey. Wedding countdown boot camp allows a cheat meal lol

You need to be realistic and you need to do something you can stick to for life. I can't give up everything I love so I have it in moderation.

Like I said I fail too. And I have bad days and weeks. I feel discouraged but I get back on that horse. That desire and drive will push thru. You have it in you. :)

I am finding it really hard to have time for the gym with my 13 month old, my the end if the day I am exhausted from chasing her around !! I ran today while my FI was home to watch her and I almost died lol it's was so much easier before I had a baby. I tired to do some here at home but it's not the same as getting to the gym to do it. I really want to feel by best in my dress on my wedding day, any suggestions?

I currently weigh 145lbs (this may not seem like that much but I am only 5 foot tall!) In high school I always weighed around 115-120 (I am 23 now). My highest was back in January, I was 175lbs. I actually do low carb diets to lose weight (some people say this is unhealthy, but I am a nurse if low carb diets are done correctly, they are not bad for you!). I hope to lose 30 more pounds before my wedding which is in 7 months. I do not work out, at all (unless running around at work counts). I would like to get back down to 115 to make me feel better about myself, and look the best possible I can in my wedding dress! Great thread by the way, and good luck to you ladies all trying to lose (or gain!) weight.

I don't weigh myself (I used to get unhealthily obsessed with the number) but I'd like to lose about 10-15 lbs and 1-2 dress sizes. I gained weight recently because of an ankle injury that prevented me from working out, and I kind of just ate anything I wanted for a couple of months. Complete regret now because of course I gained weight and the whole wedding motivation didn't kick in til about a month ago.  I'd like to get back to my usual size of 4-6 (I'm about a 6-8 now)

We got a trainer that we started seeing about 2.5 weeks ago.  He's my FI's friend and he's really good. Going to see him 1x a week and have him design workouts for me, then work out myself 3-4 more times a week. I wish I had started earlier (!) but so far I'm pretty motivated with only 2 months left to go (haha!)

I agree with @@calgarybride2015 about old fashioned calories in and out. I love to eat, and I need to watch my portions and also stop snacking.  My FI wants to lean down too before Mexico (though he doesn't need to - he has a visible 6 pack  ) so we're going to try to eat really cleanly and drink less together. Minus a cheat week we have coming up in 2 weeks (Disney World!)

I generally find it hard to balance everything in my life, and working out is usually sacrificed if I'm busy.  But I'm trying to put it back into my schedule so it's not an option, and my FI said he's going to step in and help more with things like cooking so I have time to go and work out

Good luck to all of the ladies here!
