Help! I Want To Wear A Blush Gown....

Recommended Posts

But my heart is also 100% set on my BMs in bright tropical colors (Bright shades of pink, magenta) and the guys in a grey. That being said, it wont work will it? Every image I see of a bride in blush has her BMs in either cream, grey or pastel- which I DONT want. The blush I am leaning toward is the warmer pink blush, not the yellow/tan undertones.

Should I forget the idea of the blush ceremony dress (going off- white lace for reception), or could my two ideas come together?

I personally think blush goes well with other pastels. What if you go to home depot and get little paint swatches of the colors you want and see how they look together? Maybe it's just something that no one has done before but it doesn't look bad.

@@kmk2016 I am having the same issue. I brought my blush dress last month and now I am trying to figure out what colors to have my sisters wear. My favorite color is fushsia pink and that's what my heart is set on. Everytime I try to change it I feel like it just isn't our wedding style. My friends think the bright pink bridesmaid dresses will still work with my blush dress. Dessy has a ton of colors to pick from in the pink family. We are planning to go this week to see them in person and try to figure out what pink will go best with my blush dress. I attached a picture of our wedding colors but there is no blush there :( I don't know if that helps but at least you know you're not alone...

Happy planning,

Kristen.

@@CurlyKristen I'm feeling better about our color scheme. I originally wanted a potential touch of burnt orange, but I think of I replace that with a few lighter shades of pink it will work. The girls can still have fuschia and bright toned dresses and I can have my blush. Pinterest had a lot of inspiration pics... (Not of BM and brides but of the general color scheme. I can't wait to see how yours comes together!

I think the way you are describing the colours sounds amazing! I did a quick google search for bright pink bridesmaids dresses, and then imagined the wedding dress in a blush colour and I didn't find one that would look strange to me.

If you're doing fuschia, with your blush dress? It will look amazing!!!!! And the guys in grey? Gorgeous all together!!! I want my dress in colour too and I've found two that I really like. One is blush and I think I'm going with the fuschia colour as well, and with the turquoise. I put the colours together with fabric swatches from Davids and I think it looks beautiful!!!!

I am also considering blush. I just love it. I do like ivory as well, but I think the blush is soo pretty and different. If my dress was ivory, I would have my bms in either blush, mint, grey, or a tan/ivory. However, if I go with a blush dress, my bms will be in grey, tan/ivory. But, I think I like grey. I want my bms to be able to wear their dresses again and I don't want there to be too much pink. I am going for a rustic look, so I think a blush with an ivory lace would be perfect. Theres a maggie sottero that I love. I am also planning to have the free ivory bouquet from the resort so I do not want ivory flowers with an ivory dress. My bridesmaid bouquets will be baby's breath with probably blush and mint ribbons tied on. Only thing, if there dresses are grey gm will have to wear grey suits. I am going to persuade my fiance that the gm should wear grey converses or toms. I can also get some fabric and have matching ties and sashes made for the bms and gm.

On second thought. I am not liking the bkush and grey and I believe I am going to go with navy bridesnaid dresses. I did try on a blush dress. I'm not sure if I didn't like the dress as much as I thought I would, but I didn't feel much like a bride. I went to davids bridal to see how I liked the blush. I may have just been annoyed that day because the consultant kept bringing dresses and trying to push the white and ivory... like ummm. No. I have only 1 supporter of the blush dress, so a part of me feels that I'm not going to reveal my dress to anyone until the day of the wedding.
