I've never done shellac on gel nails! Wow. I do it on my own nails. But doesn't the gel ruin your nails just as much? I've had it done once or twice and stopped because it was a disaster afterwards.

Shellac on gel nails?   I think you just do one or the other!

I think we lost eachother on that one.

I just was curious if you had colored tips or a full colored nail (whether it be gel or shellac they use) because you would see more growth with a colored nail then a clear nail/white tip.

They all ruin your nails equally (shellac, gel, acrylic)

I've done both, shellac all color and just color tips and I agree, The colored tips will last much longer. Only because you can't see the growth as much :)

If I get them done I'll do it as close to us leaving as possible. My nails, much like my hair, grow extremely fast. I got shellac last time i went to Mexico and by the end of my vacation they started looking a little bit crackled. Maybe it was because of being in the water all the time? Maybe gel might be better? especially if your wedding is towards the end of your vacation like mine :)

I'm shocked they cracked.  I find normal polish will be mostly gone by the time the week is over from the sand, but never had issues with shellac. I always use shellac now when I go to a tropical destination.   but everyone is different and some are harder on their nails than others, etc.

What I like about doing shellac only for tips is that you don't need to have longer nails than you already have.... and it sure can make them look a lot longer than they are!!!

Guest Photo Update - Ceremony 1

Shutterfly had a free 8x8 code that expired at midnight (supposedly...it's 1freebook if you have a book ready to go to order), and I wanted to make sure to get at least 1 copy ordered (it's lik $8.28 shipped!).  I had sorted my Canon camera pictures into "best" pictures during our car ride, and went through and did some edits tonight.  I barely squeaked in the midnight deadline, mostly because Shutterfly was being SO slow haha!

These are from our nice Canon DSLR, from my brother in law who took surprisingly good photos for not being very experienced.  Here's digest numero uno - I narrowed down about 800 photos to 75 LOL.  ENJOY!

Where did you get your photo sand box? That's what I'm looking for but don't like what I've found so far!! Care to share the cost? I really like that! How much sand will it hold?

Sorry - your pictures are great!! Your daughter was just adorable with her tutu! And you were a gorgeous bride!!

It was from Hobby Lobby, it's normally $20 but got it for 40% off for about $20!  It's on sale right now for $14.99 with half off!  http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/black-unity-sand-frame-469221/

I'm not exactly sure how much sand it held - we had leftover sand after using the oil pourers, so it wasn't a ton!  The blue sand originally came in a 1.5lb container, and my bff (one of my bridesmaids) used it in her frame as well.  And it still had about half the oil pourer left when we were done.  I would say it probably holds about a pound of sand or so, so getting a pound of each color (or using beach sand like we did, which was a great idea with the kitchen sifter!) should be more than enough!

Thank you :)  It was a great time, lots of fun all week!  I wish we had more time with everyone - even with just 30 guests (2 cancels last minute) we couldn't spend much time with all of them, with the different stays and the coordination pre-wedding.  It was a blast though!  So happy we went with destination over stateside!

Love the pictures. Looks like everything came together so nicely and you it seems you had such a great time. I know what you mean about spending time with guests. I can imagine that will be tough for us as well especially only being there a week. Great though that everyone including yourselves had such a great time. Destination weddings are certainly the way to go.

Those pictures look great! especially given that your brother is not a photographer!

I'm already stressed out about trying to spend time with people. I'll be a wreck when the wedding comes around :(
