LisaAnthonyPoppy
Hi everyone so I'm waiting for Grand Coral to update their contract and resend it over to me and I'll have my reception booked, have my accommodations booked, hair and makeup my own, flowers from DAC or similar, table set up Euphoria, dj taken care of, still need a wedding cake but for me I could totally make a boxed cake( yes I said that.) But there is still one thing... An officiant! If you google officiants you will see Noe Camacho. I tried reaching out to him multiple times with no luck. I found his Facebook site ( yes I'm thorough, have planned many events for friends; I'm crafty) he apologized said he was so busy n would contact me this week. Still nothing... At this point I have a bad feeling. If he's that busy now, will he make my day feel rushed? For me the ceremony is the most important part. The emotion the intimacy the promise. Family encircled, feet rooted down onto the earth, no jewelry, no precessional music although I'm planning something else instead, but the real raw union of two people for life. I want my officiant to understand that. If any brides feel the same way then, who are you using to officiant your wedding? It would be an English speaking symbolic ceremony. ( we are legally married but haven't exchanged vows.. We want this to feel real!) Thanks!!!!!!!!!! Lisa
Icis
Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that Noe Camacho didn't respond. I have contacted Noe during February and he was quick to respond so I'm not too sure if it is because he had other things on his plate? I ended up making my deposit with him. Irregardless, customer service is important! Have you tried contacting http://cancunminister.com/? I have heard of good reviews about them. I contacted them as well and they are pretty good at responding to emails. Edited June 13, 2014 by Icis
LisaAnthonyPoppy
Oh! Awesome! No I haven't! Ill see if I can get further with them! It's been nearly 3 weeks and I've brought it to his attention multiple ways- very bad customer service I want good vibes with everyone during my whole process. Thanks so much on the info! I am also open to anyone else's suggestions Xo Lisa
marinah84
If it's that important to you, I'd keep looking. It is wedding season, so he might be pretty busy but it's no excuse if you're in that business! The resort provides our officiant (also doing a symbolic ceremony). If my cousin's husband is able to attend the wedding, I may ask him to do it, if they'll let us!
LisaAnthonyPoppy
Which resort are you staying? I contacted a few resorts but everything was preset. I couldn't go for that. One said they charged 300 or each vendor you wanted to bring in on your own. I hear that's the norm in the area so I couldn't imagine paying the officiant and the resort. Crazy! I know it's busy wedding season, but I contacted him several times over the course of a month. I then saw his fb page and commented. It was then that he responded " oh I emailed you back every time." To which I replied. " I have checked my spam and inbox daily and there was nothing received." His response " I'm sorry I must have not sent you an email. Can you give me some time and ill reach out to you." So I waited and waited... I then private messages him on fb and nothing... Whomp whomp whomp. I'm not going to beg him to marry us it's really unprofessional for sure. But I'm sure there are many other good officiants, they probably just don't have a website! Any names?? Chrysta
If its that important to you keep on looking. There are plenty out there and you want to make sure you find the right fit for your ceremony....it only happens once =0) For us the Grooms mother will be performing ours. That was her only request and I couldn't be happier with it =0) Good luck and congrats!
kmk2016
I wanted ours to be done by a close friend who would have been amazing.... But FI didn't want that, and preferred someone we didn't know. Go figure. I guess we will just use whomever the resort provides for a symbolic ceremony. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

LisaAnthonyPoppy
I have another board I commented on about wedding officiant. And luckily bc of these forums an officiant Petra Rattue contacted me. http://www.minister-petra.com/ I've been extremely impressed by her attention to details and overall a wholesome good feeling that comes over me when working with her. Very pleased. I hope someone sees this and finds comfort in Petra too!
NotSoWitty
Thanks for sharing this. I've contacted several officiants in the last week or so and haven't even had a courtesy 'I've received your email and will respond shortly' response from any of them! I'll try Petra!
