Starfish Theme Chair Sash

Recommended Posts

I am so thrilled I finally decided on the chair decor for our wedding and for the right price!

This is my inspiration:

I found spools of Organza that are 5" x 18ft for $1 at AC Moore in the perfect fuschia!  (They had other colors also)  I am only going to use 1 starfish per chair.  I picked up a bag of 3-4" pencil starfish at Christmas Tree Shops for $1.85 for 6 (I had a coupon) .  So if I take the time and use a bunch of the 50% off coupons at AC Moore, I'm looking at only 55 cents per chair.  So for all 30 it would be around $16.50!  What are your thoughts?

love this! I'm only worried about traveling with the starfish through customs...

Either way, I've been looking at all kinds of shops and craft stores for that style starfish...no luck! :(

@@trbutler I attached a pin to the back of them with glue gun and then I had originally wanted the sashes tied like this :

However; the people who set them up tied them in a bow and then attached them but it looked good anyway! And I used coral organza chair sashes that I bought off ebay.

@@pddcmc I luckily found some at HomeSense randomly, they are tough to come by but I need some more and bought the rest off etsy. Also we didn't have any issues travelling with them through customs, but we went to Cuba. I am not sure if Mexico would be different. I'd be more worried about going back into the US or Canada with them, but again we are in Canada and didn't have any issues coming back.

@@trbutler, thanks! I guess I'll have to start looking at those places once they start popping up again. I went to Michael's and found the right size also, but they are $6/piece...I need too many for that price. ....or maybe I am cheap? lol Either way, thanks for the advice!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
