Does anyone know resorts that are fully handicap accessible? Not just a ramp here and there but really being able to access the whole resort? My fiances twin is in a heavy motorized wheelchair so that is a huge part of the resort we pick. I am not sure if the laws regarding that are the same in Mexico as they are in the US. I know he is going to get sand tires so a ceremony on the beach should not be an issue. Thanks for any input and advice!

Hi Jsparrow!

I will say Barcelo could be a great option in the Riviera Maya. I can`t think of any place that is not accessible via wheelchair and there are parts of the beach that are not so heavy with sand that it would be easier to manuever a wheelchair.

As well the beach there is amazing and because it is a small bay the water tends to be very calm most of the time which could also be  plus if they would like to put the wheelchair in the water or just enjoy a calmer sea. There are even a few pools with a gentle slope entering the water easy to use for wheelchair bound guests.

Let me know if you would like more information and I will be happy to help!! Happy planning!
