Cruise Wedding Guest Count Restrictions

Recommended Posts

Hello all!

We finally decided the dates for our cruise wedding next year! Now we are really focusing on the guest list and I read a couple forums from years past that state their cruise line only allowed a certain number of guests and then after that, they were charged per person for additional guests. NOTE* I have only read this about Carnival and Royal Caribbean...  We decided to go with Princess and get married at sea.

My question is:

Does anyone know if Princess has a limit on guests you can invite to your wedding if your wedding is at sea? So therefore, all guests attending will be sailing guests. Or is this only with weddings at port where you have non-sailing guests too?

Also, has anyone done a different reception like a dessert reception? We were thinking of just having the ceremony, then reserve tables for everyone at one of the main restaurants and eat dinner with everyone else and then hold a small reception with only desserts. This way we could still do the cake cutting and also do our first dance. But then I don't know how this would work with the photographer (we will be using their photographer). I doubt they would want to stay and watch us all eat! lol I hope this doesn't come off wrong but I just don't want to pay for a meal for everyone when they are already technically paying for one with their cruise.

Thanks!!

Sarah

Not sure how cruises work but I sympathize. We are doing an all inclusive resort and dinner for anyone 25+ guest is 53 a plate...for food we already paid for plus 15/hr open bar for any extra time. Crazy
