What time is your ceremony? I've read about later ceremonies being windy-er (like 3-5pmish) but I don't have any hard facts to support that. Just another thing to think about! I will unfortunately be wearing my hair probably in a low side bun, with a "poof" for volume, and a few pieces pulled out and curled. I have very thin, fine straight hair that doesn't respond well to humidity, and doesn't hold a curl in it. Plus I'm getting married right on the beach with zero shelter so it's going to be a windy one!

I have very thin, fine hair also- My ceremony will be at 5:00pm in the middle of November, so I'm not expecting the humidity to be as much of a problem as the wind!!

Unfortunately I have such a small frame - so you know those little fluffy dogs? picture one soaked- thats what I look like with my hair pulled up! lol

Awww!! It can't be that bad! haha. Can you tease it up somehow to add volume? (So it's not slicked down to your head?). That's the only way I can get away with it. I have a huge forehead and a high hair line so I look bald when its up (like on the top of my head up). So many dilemmas! haha!

@@BusyBee280 Awhile back I would have strongly advised against wearing your down because it can get pretty windy on the beach. That said...we have had several of our beach brides prove me wrong and successfully pull off getting married with their hair down, long and flowing or pulled to the side :)

My advice is to wear your hair however you want so you feel comfortable and beautiful. It is nicer though for bridesmaids to wear their hair up or tied back (especially when there are several of them). It's one thing to make sure the wind is "just right" for our bride in a wedding party photo but just waaaay to difficult if all of the bridesmaids are each having to worry about their hair as well. It's your day so you get to decide  ;)

oh my gosh I like your photos!!

I got married in Jamaica on the 20th of October. My hair is about collar length, or maybe a bit longer and I begged the stylist to find a way to put my hair up. It was jus too hot. Our ceremony was at 1pm, so that makes a big difference too, compared to 4 or 5 pm  Plus in Jamaica they have this hairspray that they say is just like cement so it keeps your hair in place. I wish now I had been able to have it down. I did for our AHR and I liked it a lot better. I'm trying to grow it our for our renewal or do extensions. I would really like longer hair down or a half up half down.

And yes it definitely gets windy down on the beach! So something to keep in mind. If you can do something to keep it out of your face, whether up or down, that's the best thing!

I think maybe swept to the side would be nice. The thing that you will notice first is if the back of your neck is sweating your hair will stick to you.

I have long hair and I notice that on certain days here in Playa when I have my hair down everything just feels 10 degrees hotter! But my hair is thick so maybe since your hair is thin it might not be so bad.

Most of my brides have chosen loose updos, still hanging a bit yet not weighing them down. Let me know if you would like some examples and I can look through some past pictures and see what I have. :)

If you have some examples can you post them for sure?

I have been debating this...I love my hair down and so does my FI...Whenvever we are going out or doing anything nice I always wear my hair down so I can't imagine it being up for my wedding. My hair holds curls pretty well..Its down to my shoulders and super thick so I'm worried about humidity because it will poof up..so i'm thinking about getting extensions and just wearing it curly and to the side..
