Whats Negotiable?

Recommended Posts

I'm curious what peoples experience are with negotiating for things during the planning process. I'd think that most things are negotiable to a certain degree, afterall, I'll be bringing in a ton of guaranteed money for the resort. So far I'm not getting any love from the resort, but have been able to negotiate with a photographer. Whats been your experience?

I forgot to add, my fiance works at a 5 star hotel and for weddings there everything is negotiable, they even throw in tons of comps, granted the amount of money being spent is way more than what we want to spend, but still....hes totally shocked that nothing seems negotiable

Best way to negotiate is to use a TA that has an existing relationship with the hotel/resort you are considering. These TAs are privy to discounts and bonus offers that the general public calling resort directly simply aren't. You can alway negotiate- but keep in mind with people like photographers, that you are paying not only for the hours they are snapping pictures in front of you- but the often dozens of hours editing and formatting your images. This is a lot of work and these artists deserve in many instances- the rates they charge. The cost of linens and decor set up? Now that's something most all inclusives SHOULD be willing to work with you on,
