Involving Our Children- Unique Ideas?

Recommended Posts

Hi all

So I have 7 yr old twin boys from my first marriage, and my FI has a 14 yr old son from a previous relationship. I want to involve them in the ceremony- but want to do it in a unique way. My boys will be walking me down the aisle... But my FI's son is not interested in standing up and being a groomsman. So whatever we do, we will need to call up FI's son mid-ceremony since he doesn't want to stand at the altar (ahhh 14 yr olds!!) I still want to include all 3 boys somehow... But want to do something unique.

I am NOT interested in doing a sand ceremony.... So looking for other ideas along the same idea. Since it's a beach wedding I don't think a unity candle will work either because of the wind...

Any ideas that are a bit more interesting? Something that actually is a part of the ceremony, not just a job like handing out programs etc. I want his son to feel special too- and for all three boys to feel like the ceremony is about all of us coming together.

Hi

I have a 7 year old and a 1 year old. We are honoring them by giving my oldest a watch and saying something special to him and my baby girl a piece of jewelry and saying words to her. Let your heart guide you and you will know how you want to involve them.

We are also having our family and guests ( small wedding) stand during ceremony in a circle around us, and a blessing of the rings from each member, we too are not doing a sand ceremony or anything. Good luck!
