Where Do You Even Begin With Gown Shopping?

Recommended Posts

you'll find it!!

most shops have foundations (long line bras or strapless bras) you can use to try on dresses - if you need them. most corset dresses won't need bras, and some dresses have a bra built in. if you have a long line bra or strapless, you may want to bring it along just in case.

I'm worried that I won't find "the dress."

Silly question, do you just wear whatever bra and underwear to your bridal appointment and once you have the dress you buy the appropriate bra/bridal support?

Definitely bring a strapless bra (if you want to try on strapless) and underwear you're comfortable being seen in as the sales attendants get very close! ;)

And don't worry, you will definitely find it! You'll start to notice right off the bat you are drawn to certain styles of dresses, and then you just have to narrow it down.

My best friend told me good advice - go with what you feel beautiful in and you can see yourself wanting to wear on your wedding day. I found that when I showed pics of some of my family and friends, they all had differing opinions. This was really confusing, and I decided to just go with what I was happiest with (even though some ppl thought I looked better in something else). You are the one wearing it at the end of the day, and it should make you feel fantastic :)

yes! I stuck with corset-backs because they have more support than a zip or button back (I had nightmares about a zipper busting on the dress...). I didn't really need a bra at all because I was laced in nice & tight. but...I have a weird shape too - I actually added "cutlets" to give me more bust.

the sales team should know what support you will really & truly need.

@@AllieH in your search for a gown, did you find a lot of dresses that didn't require bras? I'm a busty girl and the thought terrifies me. Lol......
