I hope all is well. My name is Dave. My fiancee and I will be getting married @ Paradisus Punta Cana this October.

 

We're currently looking for photographers (preferably those who can do videos as well).

 

We came across Tropic One Studio.

 

Have any of you worked with them?

 

If so, we'd love your thoughts.

Congrats and welcome to the site! Have you checked any of the vendor reviews yet to see if there are any comments? It's a good starting place. I'm sure there will be someone on the site that is familiar with who you're asking about. You'll find everyone on the site is more than willing to share information and tips and ideas.

I have never heard of them. Have you looked into other photographers? I booked my photography with Octavio Montes. He was the best price for the quantity of time and photos you get plus, he takes great pictures. I actually got his info from this forum. There is a lot of great advice. I would definitely check him out. He even offers a 10% bridal discount!! Www.octaviomontes.com. I'm not sure where your resort is located but I know he does photography in Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Riviera Maya.

I'm not sure if you know this or not, but Arrecife is PPC's preferred vendor. Any other photographer will cost you a $1000 outside vendor fee PLUS whatever that outside vendor is charging you for their services. I'm using Arrecife for my wedding at PPC this July. They have been really nice! Although, since they have received my payment, its been harder to get a hold of them. That's been the only frustrating part.

We had our wedding at Paradisus Palma real 4/5/14. Tropic One is the photographer that the resort uses. Changed their name from Arricife to Tropic One.

My update on Tropic One Studio is that they are fantastic! I had Lala as my photographer and she is so skilled and really knew what she was doing. Everyone has been complimenting the photos and some look like they are right out of a bridal magazine. I would highly suggest them! I'm not sure if Lala works just out of PPC but its worth asking for her!

Is anyone able to share prices they got and how Long they stayed for tropic one? Also any advice on how your weddig went at paradisus punta cana? We were ready to book then realizing all of these other costs. I feelikw they charge you to breath lol. Was it worth it?

I am using Tropic One for my wedding at Paradisus Palma Real. If you look on their facebook page, they have a lot of photos. We requested Rodrigo, Lala is the other photographer. 

 

Here are the prices:

 

Basic $800 - room + ceremony + photo session

Medium $1000 - same as above + 1hr reception

Big $1500 - same as above + 2hr reception

Full $1950 - same as above $ 3hr reception

 

each one of them includes a certain amount of digital and printed pictures too.

@@Bride1030 I just came back from having my wedding at Paradisus Punta Cana, September 19, 2015. It was absolutely beautiful.  They did an amazing job, the prices can add up, depending on what you add to your ceremony/reception and amount of guests you have but it is definitely worth it.  The wedding I had there I could not have done in NY for the price.  I highly recommend.  I also used Tropic One Studios and they were great.  Everyone loves our pictures and I can't stop looking at them.  Rodrigo was our photographer and we was amazing! Very nice and professional.  I personally would have knocked over a few of my family/guests because they kept trying to take pictures while he was doing so, but he was totally patient and I LOVE my pictures.  When I figure out how to post on here, I will. 

 

Don't hesitate, they do amazing work at Paradisus. Maria was our Romance coordinator and she was fantastic, always replying and helping me out.  Once I started working with the hotel directly,  Beatriz, Miguelina and Sharlyn were absolute dolls and they made our wedding very special.

@@Soly29 hi! I just booked Rodrigo too for my wedding in Feb at Paradisus Palma Real so your review is very re-assuring. Thank you! A separate question for you - were you able to negotiate anything down with Caribbean Celebrations? Everything does add up a lot, and I am bringing some stuff form home but not much and trying to re-use things, but I would love to negotiate the flowers with them if I can.
