Chair Sashes - Organza Or Satin?

Recommended Posts

I'm really having a hard time figuring out what type of material I want for my chair sashes. I know it's all personal opinion but I thought I'd come to the board to get other opinions. We are getting married on the beach at 6pm and I have a silk dress. Since my dress is silk should I go with satin to keep the same texture? Or does the organza make it more beachy?

I personally like organza, but I suggest doing whatever you like, regardless of what you think others might like. Or maybe get your FI's input, it's his day too! ;)

I agree with lhills. I really like the organza sashed, but that's just my personal opinion. I say go with whatever you like! It's your day after all!

I think it more depends on what type of look you are going for. The organza sashes will less of a saturated colour whereas the satin with give a good bright colour. I went with organza and sometimes I think perhaps I should have gone with satin because it will be brighter. However, my dress is organza and I think it will go with the overall beachy feel of the wedding better. I don't think you need to match your dress, I think its whatever you like more!

The ONLY reason I am considering satin is the real punch of color you get from the solid color... I haven't decided yet

Haha this made me laugh. Can only imagine if I asked my FI his opinion on chair sashes :P.

I prefer the organza ones if doing all the chairs, or the satin ones maybe just for the aisle row. I like when they're just on the aisle chairs personally- looks classier to me. I don't really like the look of all the bright sashes on the white chair covers, but that's me and I hate chair covers :).

I don't think you need to match your dress though! i don't think I've ever looked at a pic and was struck by whether the fabric matched the dress or not :)

I agree about the sash on white chair covers... I like simple so I'm going to elect for chocolate brown Tiffany chairs and just satin sash (hung vertically) along the aisle chairs.... I think!

We totally have the same taste :). I've been trying to tell my FI that I think Tiffany/Chiavari chairs are totally worth the upgrade but I'm not sure he's buying it :P. And yes, tied vertically!
