@@dknight0001 @Pitita We found the day of wedding coordinators at Sandos to be great! Our last couple at Sandos Playacar had a basic wedding ceremony on the beach and reception dinner at El Gaucho for their small group of guests. Everything came together nicely and the coordinator was very helpful throughout the day even ensured gawking guests were kept back during the ceremony.

The wedding office is also centrally located and convenient to just pop in to ask any questions to the coordinator before the wedding.

Still one of the major advantages for most couples is the ability to bring in your own pro photographers to Sandos with just day passes! For example most hotel photogs only give a few printed images (as mentioned in the Tripadvisor review) while we give ALL edited hi-res images on a USB. Our bride actually chose Sandos for this reason :)

*warm wishes from paradise*

Yes! I agree! I had very good feedback from people that have gone to that hotel and also i have had excellent response from them. In fact, this hotel is in my 5 top options for my wedding!

Hi ladies. the one thing I've read with a couple of other trip advisor reviews that has me concerned is the lack of air conditioning in the a la carte restaurants. Someone just told me about this resort so I thought I would take a look to see what it looks like and it looks really nice, but the lack of air conditioning would worry me. Has anyone else heard about this same thing?

@Pitita  if you're going this month, is that something you could look into? We're much older, and the people that we would be travelling with are the same, and non-air conditioning would really be an issue for us.

thanks!!

Hello, TA Wendy here... I just visited this resort a couple weeks ago and toured it and stayed there for one night. I found that it is a good option for a family friendly, and very reasonably priced property.. with that said, just be sure you are aware that it is very large, and if you happen to have grand parents or older guests attending this might be an issue for them.. from the back of the resort to the beach is at least a 7 or 8 minute walk along paths, or a wait and jitney ride.

The resort is expanding its wedding locations, and has recently completed a very pretty garden area for weddings as an additional option to the beach.

They also just opened The Cupcake Cafe for another spot to drop in for a bite or Cappuchino.. fun place!

For couples looking for a very reasonably priced resort in the Playacar area this could fill the bill.

Additionally, the resort is the last property on Playacar beach, so you can walk up the beach or be on the beach with a little more privacy than for those located closer down towards town.

The resort also has bikes on site for anyone to use if you want to just ride around the property or take for about a 10-15 minute ride into 5th Ave area.

I would be happy to answer any questions or check rates for any couples thinking of this resort.

Best to all!

TA Wendy

Hi Wendy!

Your timing is perfect!! And thank you for the great review!

I'm just going to re-ask the question that I asked earlier if that's ok, and it goes to a bunch of reviews that I read. It says that the a la carte restaurants don't have air conditioning. Did you find that? It just seems rather odd for a resort in Mexico not to have AC in the restaurants, but it's something that would definitely be an issue for us and the people travelling with us such that I would look elsewhere for a resort.

thanks again!

Hi, I will send a message to our rep and double check.. we just ate there one night, and we were set up outdoors next to the beach! I ate one breakfast there at the adults only restaurant below the main lobby where they have the buffet, and it WAS air conditioned.

I will see what I can find out about the a la carte restaurants and air... back to you shortly!

Hi Wendy,

I just wondered if you had any feedback on the question of air conditioning? I've figured I'm down to 3 resorts now for a short list, and this is one of them. Gran Porto Real is one of the others and lastly Grand Sunset Princess. As well I'm almost certain we're going to go with Grand Coral Beach Club for our ceremony (with Joyce of Dream Weddings) and cocktails, then a small reception dinner at a restaurant right in PDC. I"m concerned about price point for a resort so I'm hoping Sandos Playacar has the AC and I can keep it on the list!

Thanks!

Hi all, Sorry it took a little while to get a response from the management at Sandos Playacar.. but I just heard back with this answer:

As for A/C in Sandos Playacar, basically all restaurants are air conditioned except the Festival buffet and Iztapalapa Mediterranean restaurant since they are "open" an all sides. We are aware of our guests comments and are currently doing maintenance on the air condition equipments in all restaurants in order to ensure that they are all running on maximum capacity.

So I hope that helps!

Thank you Wendy! I think you've probably just about made my decision for me. I love the look of this resort and the recommendation from Bicoastal helped a lot too. The beach gets great reviews and overall, except for the AC issue, everything was recommended.

I think it's time to investigate this a whole lot further!

Thank you again for taking the time to check into this. Much appreciated!
