Ahhh perks! (Not packages).... Yes this is good stuff! Most GI agents will share what they can provide you! Some are even better than this!

Depending on the number of guests, the cocktail reception is usually free anyway- and the caribe photo credit is only good of you go with them as your photographer (many do not)... So spa package is the best bet- or check with your TA they often have better perks like excursions!

I never heard anything about any of these perks :(. I wonder if they would apply to me. I think the cocktail hour would be nice for us because we only get a 4 course dinner right now with the amount of people that have booked. Although the bridal spa package would be nice too, so many tough choices haha.

I just set this up with my WC and she was firm on the fact that it would cost me $10pp over 50 people and that I could not modify or upgrade the event in anyway.  You also got them to waive the Sky Wedding Fee too because of the amount of people you are having?

What?!?!  My WC  said the S'mores Party was 2 hours, I could select either:  6pm - 8pm  or 8pm to 10pm and the event must end by 10pm.

I think it is only 2 hours at Azul Fives at least. All events that are like cocktail hours seem to be 2 hours.

Khmciver seems to be gettling a lot fees waived but she's also bringing 100 people, so if you think about it, she will end up spending about the same if not more than the rest of us with less guests. I will probably still try to negotiate a few things here and there but I'm not getting my hopes up because I only have about half of those guests so I don't have that much leverage haha.

Just some food for thought for the ladies who are planning a catamaran. The time when I went with my friend on one in Cancun we both got sea sick. Maybe prepare your guests for that and let them know that if they're prone to motion sickness they might be better off staying at the hotel. It really ruined our night that day that we went and we both agreed that we should have just stayed and enjoyed the beach haha.

Sounds like you have an outside wedding planner who is helping you negotiate with the Karisma coordinators.  Is this correct?  Because I was told by my Miami WC, Brigitte Castro, that the latest that private events can end is 11 pm.  And I'm requesting late night tacos for our event.  If you are using an outside wedding coordinator, are you paying an outside vendor fee?  Or are you paying for a day pass for Lorena to be there during your wedding?

I'm considering hiring an outside wedding planner.  I'm just not sure how beneficial it would be.  Because from what folks say on this forum, the on-site coordinators really take care of you, while the Miami ones do not.

If anyone has any thoughts on having an outside planner vs. sticking to the on-site coordinators at the hotel, please share!

hey girls!! My wedding planner is Lorena Montemayor from Anhexo https://www.facebook.com/ANHEXOAmbientacionyMobiliario

The thing with my wedding is that the reception is actually on the beach, so the ceremonies and the cocktail will be Sky wedding but the dancing is right in front the ocean... so that's why I find it very appropriate to have the 2 hour cocktail so that all the event could last a little bit longer.

Hey ladies,

I just attended the BDR in September and I loved the hotel! It's defiantly smaller than some other resorts I've stayed at, but I think that's better for our guests so we people don't get lost.

Here is what I found out about the construction going on. It should be done around Nov 2014-Jan 2015 and it includes two new villas. Guests can still stay there, but they are trying to sell them as condos. They don't know what type of rooms, or how much they will cost. They are adding 3 new restaurants (Indian, Thai and Caribbean), which are included in the all inclusive package and a new bar.

Let me know if you ladies have in questions, or need pictures of anything!

This is exciting news!  I googled for more info on the new features at Azul Fives, and I found this presentation:

A Thai restaurant, Mexican Cantina (finally the first Mexican option at this hotel!), sushi restaurant and more!

@@reynbow those are really exciting changes! Right on time for our wedding :). I'm super excited about that cenote! Hopefully we can use it :)

I asked Brigitte yesterday whether there's any way to extend the reception past 11. We'll see what she says. Hopefully it's a yes :). I'm not too sure what kinds of extra things you would get from an outside coordinator. I don't have one but I just don't know if it's worth having one either. So far i've been ok with how Miami is handling things, just minor hiccups here and there but I think that's expected no matter who you go with, whether you have a DW or a local one.

Just a question for you about the hotel, how far of a walk is the beach from the rooms?
