I was just told today that I cannot use ANY outside vendors with the exception of photography/videography (even if I am willing to pay the $800 fee)!  Was anyone else able to get an external vendor approved that is not photo/video?

SO glad I found this thread! I feel like I have so many questions haha!! My fiance and I are planning for Oct 16, 2015 at Azul Fives. We are giving it a few more days to let it all sink in bu then we plan on putting down our deposit.

I have heard a few things that have scared me...such as super high costs for silly things like extra flowers, or thousands of dollars for music. Has anyone had any experience/advice with this?

Also, as far as the wedding collections go... did you guys pick one of the ones, such as costal bliss?

We should have about 40-50 people attending and I want to make sure this is affordable before we book it. There resort looks absolutely amazing though! Any other advice would be greatly appreciated :)

What do you mean "thousands of dollars for music"? Yes DJs are between $800-$1500 depending on what you want (but you can always do an iPod reception if a DJ isn't what you want). But if you are looking at bringing in a band or performer those can be expensive depending on what you are looking for.

The weddingsbylomas website have all the vendors that are currently approved by Karisma and will give you an idea of costs.

The dj or the rental of the amplifier are quite affordable. It's the live performers that cost half our budget hahah. With any resort you go through they will charge higher prices than if you were doing things on your own. It will also feel like they try to squeeze every penny but I think that's pretty standard with any resort. One thing about Karisma, they don't have a lot of hidden fees that I've found so far. Everything is pretty clear, there are surcharges for certain things but they don't try to hide these things from you.

We're not going with their packages for the ceremony but we're paying for the tables to go with the package (vintage elegance). I think our wedding so far is turning out to be around 6000 or 7000 with Karisma, that's without the photographer, dress, suit, etc. We have almost 50 people coming. I know the prices for food have gone up so it might be more for you, or less if you don't pay for a lot of upgrades that we are paying, but just to give you an idea

Hello. I discovered the gift packages that you receive when you book your wedding through a GI certified consultant. I contacted my TA who confirmed that I will eligible to select one of the packages. I currently have a s'mores bonfire as my welcome event but I am considering using the free welcome reception package. Does anyone know how/where it's done?

I didn't even know there were gift packages for booking through a GI certified consultant. I haven't heard anything about them haha but that would be nice if it is a possibility :). Sorry, I'm not much help, am I?

@@Nanlvsrav  The free GIWC Welcome Cocktail Reception is a 2-hour cocktail event for up to 50 people (additional $10pp over 50).  It includes a signature cocktail, beer, wine and soda and gourmet bites.  I think they select the location and food choices  for you and unfortunately it cannot be upgraded or modified.
