@@CaroV do you have a TA yet? We invited some people in the US and our TA at first recommended a TA in the US that she works with (so I don't think you would need to put down separate deposits if they are affiliated with each other). After we sorted out when and where we wanted to get married we decided to hold 'land only' rooms ...meaning just the hotel and not the flight. Our TA suggested that our US guests book the hotel through her and that they could go into their local TA to book their flights or book it on their own. It worked out to be less complicated than involving another TA; however if it is the bride and groom who are based out of the US that might be worth looking into.

I hope that helps a little! :)

We also booked some land only spots for some guests from Argentina and Colombia. Our Canadian TA did it all but in terms of flights they might find something cheaper through a US TA :)

With everything @@TinkerSofi has been through with planning her wedding, @@acastello2 this is absolutely one of the best responses you'll get next to a travel agent!

Your responses have been beyond helpful!!!!!

I just started the process with my travel agent and we are booking a site visit this July to make sure this is the perfect resort. My fiancé and I are going to be paying for hotel and airfare for 14 of our guests and I am concerned that having the wedding at azul will exceed our $1,350 max per person (of course less is more desirable). Everyone would be flying out of New York. If anyone from New York has had their wedding at azul can you please give me the cost your guests had to pay- this would be so helpful. My travel agent is working on getting me an estimated price as well.

One last question I promise. Has anyone had or is going to have a religious ceremony? My fiancé is Jewish and I am catholic so we would want to have both a priest and a rabbi at the ceremony. My travel agent said it can be made possible to have a rabbi but she is unsure about the priest. Has anyone had a priest perform their ceremony?

Thank you again ladies, you are all amazing!!!

@@acastello2 You really need to double check with the hotel. As far as I know catholic ceremonies can only be performed in churches and chapels.

@@TinkerSofi wait, Colombia? I'm Colombian!!!  :D

My fiance is Colombian so his mom and one of his sisters are coming from over there :)

Hello Azul FIve Brides!!! :) My fiancé and I have been working with our TA and had finally decided we wanted to go with NOW Jude due to the price and I loved their ceremony locations but we then were super disappointed about the family suites... they aren't FMAILY SUITES~! ughh So my TA recommended we look into Azul fives for better suites for our guest. With that stated .. I went on the hunt reading reviews etc. Everything has seemed to be perfect but I continue to see the same reviews on people being bored. Some stated even the pools were boring and it was even worse at night. For the past Azul Five brides or guest... was there no entertainment or  nightlife at the resort?? Did they not have any bars open late to hang out by . Or shows etc? My worry is some people that wouldn't want to leave the property would become super bored. Thank you for the feedback!!! :)

That's a good question and I wish I could answer from my own experience but I haven't been to the resort. From what I hear they do have some shows at night and they also have the Zky Bar open until 1am, I believe they have a DJ there. It's probably not the most crazy, off the hook party you'll see, because it's a family resort. However, to be honest with you, out of all the hotels I've been to I can't say their shows were amazing. We still found things to do to keep us entertained and I can't say we were bored. Even when it rained the whole week we managed to have fun. I think the biggest thing to consider is that you will have a bunch of your friends staying with you, so hey, if the nightlife is boring I'm sure you guys can stir up some fun!

Another thing to keep in mind, at least when it comes to the hotel club, the fun really depends on the crowd. I've been to one hotel twice. The first time the club there was totally lame, no one danced, it was terribly boring. The second time, the crowd was so much fun, everyone was dancing and just having a great time. to tell you the truth, we had more fun at the hotel club than we did at the Cancun clubs!

So yes, it's not the Oasis Cancun but I'm sure at least our group will be ok. We certainly don't have money to go out every night so we will have to settle for the hotel nightlife and trust that we will all create a fun atmosphere :). Perhaps the people who were writing that review traveled as a couple and if the nightlife is boring, yeah you don't have much to do unless you go outside of the resort. But you being with so many people there I wouldn't be too worried :). I hope that helps a little.

OK AF ladies. Question for you. I just found out that the deluxe rooms are 2 double beds. You only get king beds when you get into the one bedroom suites. is anyone else having an issue with this? Hubby and I are definitely thinking one bedroom but I'm not asking friends to pay that but I don't want to give them 2 doubles as their only option. I was sure I read somewhere that they were either converting rooms or making new ones that have king beds. Am I losing my mind? This will totally rule out this resort if 2 doubles is the only option. Thanks for whatever info you've got!!

@@TinkerSofi thank you for your feedback. We defiantly arent looking for a wild crazy paty scene its the reason why we have steered completely aware form cancun. I agree with you completely. You must create your own fun if needed! and we don't have a problem with that at all. haha!! With the resort being in such a good distance from Playa for those that may want to get wild they can head out and do so.  We just sent over our approval to our TA to go ahead and see if we can get the date we want for next year!! So fingers crossed!!!

no, as far as I knew the deluxe rooms always have two double beds. We got the one bedroom for ourselves and then got upgraded. I'm not sure what the deal is with the new rooms, they might have maybe a queen size bed for some of them? do you have anyone that you can ask? a travel agent maybe? I know you're not working with one but maybe she can answer that question for you.

I've stayed at hotels with Juan with two double beds and it was fine :) but it's understandable if you don't want that for your guests. I felt bad about my guests too and that was the one thing I was a bit iffy about but surprisingly a lot of them ended up booking the one bedroom! The one bedroom was about $200 more per person at least when we booked.

welcome to the club of AF brides :D. When is your wedding?

I'm getting super excited for ours. We went out for dinner with my friends the other day and everyone was talking about it and how excited they are to go to Mexico all together! :D
