Hello Ladies,

I'm actually looking into this resort, I really want a destination wedding but when I look at cost I feel like it's going to go over our budget. Can anyone of you give me a rough estimate of costs. Also how do decorations, floral, music, photographer work.

I'm overwhelmed already.

Hi ladies! I have 35 recovery kit bags left over from my welcome bags which I'm happy to send to someone if they want them. I put advil, Tylenol, alka seltzer, pepto bismol, etc. in them. They're really cute. If you want me to mail them to you, just let me know. I attached a picture of them. Thanks!

Hello Ladies,

I think there's always ways to make a wedding here work within your budget. I was really overwhelmed before booking and I thought it was really expensive but in the end it's about average I think. The nice thing about Karisma is that you can personalize pretty much everything. Everything comes with a price of course, but that means you can make things as expensive or as cheap as you want! As it's always the case, the smaller the budget the more sacrifices you'll need to make and the more flexible you will have to be with your choices. I agree with @@Lilgabri03, I think a total budget of $15-20k is totally realistic, especially if you don't have a huge wedding. I think the biggest thing is to keep in mind is the cost of the trips. That's pretty much non-negotiable and in our budget it's the biggest amount of money going towards one thing (almost $4000). After that it's really up to you and the things you want to upgrade, how many guests you're having, etc.

In terms of photography, flowers and music. If you want to rent things or hire vedors from Karisma you have to go through their vendor Lomas. They can be quite expensive, just so you know, but there's usually ways of working around it. They charge $800 for any outside vendor you want to bring in. We are bringing a photographer and videographer from the same company so we're only paying $800 once. Lomas also has their own photographers but we didn't like any of them and we thought the prices were too high for the quality of their pictures. In terms of flowers, I think some brides hired outside florists and then picked up the flowers at the entrance so they didn't have to pay the $800. Karisma also can't set them up if you bought them outside, so you have to send someone to do that for you. We decided to go minimal with flowers and we're using fake flowers for most things, only buying a few items from Lomas. Music, again goes through Lomas or you have to pay the $800 if you want to bring an outside DJ. I think their DJ's are decently priced for a change but we're renting an amplifier and bringing our ipod. All of Lomas prices are on here http://www.weddingsbylomastravel.com/planning/

Anyway, I know this is a long reply but hopefully I answered some of your questions.

Hi Everyone. This forum helped me get so much info.

I put in my reservation for June 21 for sky deck ceremony, Oriola cocktail hours & Reception in Garden. I am expecting between 100-120 people so I will qualify for unlimited private events and hoping to use it for my cocktail & reception.

I was wondering who people recommend for photography. I checked out Octavio and Shenko but would love to hear about more options.

Photography is what I care most to spend money on.

I plan to use complimentary wedding and bring in my own lighting and décor for table and just pay the set up fee. I like everything very basic and plain and not expensive. lol.

I was planning on using the DJ from lomas but not im getting worried because of reviews. I wonder if we can provide them playlist?

My best friend got married in 2010 at sensatory and everything came out perfect and she went with all the bsic complimentary and brough her own décor and lighting.

Congrats!! Wow 100-120 is a lot of guests haha. Yeah we decided to go with the complementary package too for the ceremony, which isn't complementary for us Canadian brides but at least it's cheaper than their packages! Haha I know that for unlimited events they won't confirm the location until you get there, just so you know for your reception. Maybe they'll make an exception for you though because you have so many guests

We booked Octavio for photography and videography so I can't be much help there :). We had checked out Claudia Rodriguez. We loved her pictures too but it was significantly more expensive than Octavio and we couldn't pay it but if money is not an issue for you, you might want to check her out :)

Do any of you happen to know the dimensions of the round tables for the reception and the long table for the guest signing book table?

I know the round tables are 5' but I'm not sure about the rectangular ones. I always remember the round ones because they're the size of my height hahaha! I'll go back and check the e-mail I got with the sized and let you know about the rectangular one

We are doing a totally separate honeymoon and going to the Maldives. However, I have three friends who are staying with their husbands and going to other resorts for the week. There is one that is supposed to be awesome if you want me to find the name out.

I only have 25 days until I leave for Mexico and 29 days until the big day!!! Eek!!! So much to do!!

Is anyone planning on honeymooning at another resort in the area after your wedding? Any suggestions?

I am having my honeymoon at El dorado casitas. Since it's the same resort chain and offers everything I want (except the beach at the Maroma property)!
