OOT bags...

So, I know that there are a million thread on this, but now I am back to square one with these.... And will have to do about 100 of them...

What did you girls do for bags and what did you put in them when you had to make so many??

Are you still going to have a beach wedding and just at a later date or will it be at home? What is the environment like?

If your having a at home wedding, I think table favours shold be enough, I have never been to a local wedding (or even the same country) where we got ootbags. Most people don't even know what they are. It sure would save you lot's of money if you don't have to do 100 oot bags.

How freakin' cute! I love the gfet ready for Mexico bags. How many did you send out? How much did you spend on shipping to send them? I have been debating over the whole OOT bag idea since I wanted to have them in everyone's rooms when they get there, but didn't know how that would work and also didn't want to have to bring all the stuff down with me and worry about customs. Maybe I can ship them out ahead of time to the guests and they can bring them with them.

That is such a good idea to get everyone in the mood...I may need to do something like that beforehand to get everyone excited! Nice idea!

First of all, if your wedding is at home then you only need OOT bags for people who are coming from out of town (I know that sounds redundant, but I had a friend who didn't realize and spent a ton buying stuff for no reason). I have been to a bunch of weddings where I got an OOT bag, here are a few of my fav thing:

 

1. bottles of watter - hotel rooms never have these

2. homemade cookies - obviously you can buy these and package them nicely

3. "things to do" brochure - ie, tourist places to see while in town

4. weekend events - rehearsal dinner, brunch, if any

5. chocolates ('nuff said)

Flip flop cards from Oriental Trading

Flip flop notepad from OT

a pack of kleenex from dollar stores

a botle of water with a personalized tag

I think most of the websites I've seen have said that for local weddings, they really just put together a package of local information, maps, resources and contacts for the guests and then maybe throw in some snack food.

 

If you want to keep the costs low---- you could skip the bag itself and do something like wrap the materials in some tissue paper with a nice ribbon around it, and then put some snack food with it if you feel like it needs something more...
