Help! Looking For Advice..jamaica, Private Beach, Small Resort

Hi everyone! Total newbie here...

Looking for a smaller resort (<400 rooms) in Jamaica, we will have a good sized group, most likely 30-40 people. I really value a private beach location. I don't want to be too far from the airport. We are looking for March 2015. WHERE DO I START?!

Congrats and welcome to the site! You'll find a ton of information here so definitely read, read, read!!

 

A travel agent is always a good place to start. You're on the one year mark, so I'm not sure if you'll get decent pricing yet or not. But just for fun, try itravel2000.com and put in Jamaica just for resorts. Get the details on the sizes and what they have for amenities and narrow down the list. Then once you start checking with travel agents, you'll have a short list of resorts to discuss.

 

We got married at Gran Bahia Principe Jamaica, but that might be a bit bigger than what you're looking for. The price is reasonable, and it's a great resort. Might be worth checking out.

Rose Hall is a really nice area which is close to the ariport.  You may want to look around there to start.  Also a travel agent is important, they can help with your family and friends booking and getting the best rate or even suggest some good hotels.  There are also destination wedding planners which could be a huge help.  Just depends on if you have the budget for it.

Canada2015Bride ... Check out Coyaba Beach Resort in Montego Bay, smaller more intimate with great beach, pool, food & wedding packages. My BIL got married there 05/2010 and it was very nice.

Canadabride2015 if you're looking for something private, check out Hummingbird hall, its a villa in Montego bay. The only thing is they don't have accommodation, so you'd have to stay in a resort close by.

 

We are having our wedding in Negril, its about an hour from the airport. There is loads if lovely small resorts there. Rhodes hall plantation in Negril has a private beach, check out their website. http://www.rhodesresort.com/
