Veil Vs No Veil For Beach Wedding?

Recommended Posts

I'm not wearing a veil, simply because I think its too much for a beach wedding.

I know its still a huge once in a lifetime occasion, I just think its too much if that makes sense.

However as a few of you have said, I just can not work out how to have my hair, I know I want it up and with a flower or two in but no idea on the style!!

I'm not wearing one because of the wind and that they are ridiculously expensive for what they are. If you dare to make your own you can always make one for the pictures. That way if it's not perfect it's ok because no one will notice. You could also maybe ask one of your already-married friends if you can borrow theirs.

hehe nevermind.. you are getting a veil!!!

Are you still saying 'no' to the veil? Just curious now that you have your dress (not sure if you had your dress when you posted this).

I am! Hahah I tried one on when I got my dress and I just loved it so I needed to get it lol. I totally felt like a bride with it :). I hadn't gone dress shopping yet when I posted this :P

I considered it this evening for maybe 10 minutes, and decided I still don't want one -- was looking at my pictures trying to visualize one. Also not sure how I'd do my hair. I am sure it would look pretty, it's just not me. I am so casual, it's silly!! Glad you decided on one :)

I think with your short hair a birdcage veil or a fascinator would look amazing! but yes, you always have to go with what is you. The main reason I didn't want to wear one was because I was worried about it being all over the place with the wind. Now I think I will just get some of those veil weights and test drive the thing on one of those windy days in Calgary haha. When I went shopping and I tried it on I stopped feeling like a quinceañera and more like a bride :). It's very vintage and it makes me feel very Spanish, which is totally me :). Also the edges match almost exactly the lace apliques on my dress. You can kind of see it on this picture (just forgive my dress not closing lol)

Quineanera? that's a new word for me!

It's beautiful.

I am really happy with that hair piece and I think it will tie it all together for me.

I tried the birdcage veil but felt it may be a bit more vintage than I was going for.

Thankfully we all get lots of options :)

I totally love your hair clip! I think it will look amazing and I think it goes better with your dress than a veil would.

I never tried a birdcage. I don't think it really goes with the dress, plus my fiance specifically said, "make sure you don't get one of those cages for your face, it looks like you have flies flying arround" bahaha.

Quinceanera is sort of like the sweet 16 parties but in Latin America it's when the girls turn 15 :). Not so much now, but a while back the girls would wear white dresses. I didn't like that at all. Thankfully now they wear sort of like grad dresses.

I think veils are beautiful, but for the added cost and considering i'd just wear it for the ceremony and pictures (with the risk of wind), i'm opting out.  I might do a hairpiece / clip of some sort if I find something I just cannot live without.

I got a on sale veil on hobby Lobby (8!) Double tier that I'm wearing for boudoir pictures, which is my groom gift for morning of wedding. It's white, and my dress is ivory/looks almost champagne. I'm 80% sure I don't want one, but you never know :)
