Whoaa!

I was just referred to this site by an awesome person & mutual bride-to be that I actually just met in Mexico while doing resort tours. Go figure that although we live in separate cities, we are both from the same hometown, Small World!

Anywhooo...My fiance and I have been engaged for three months now and are in the beginning stages of planning. Everything was slow paced until our resort tour trip last month and now it seems as if the flood gates have opened!

Any suggestions on how to find balance and not be consumed with the planning, never ending questions from guest, etc? We do have a DW coordinator from DestinationWeddings.com which is a great help but ultimately trying to decide every little detail has me needing a vaca!  :)

Congrats and great pick of resort! Welcome to the site! Definitely check out the forums here for starters and see the reviews of other brides and brides to be that have been involved with the same resort. This site is a wealth of information and tips, photos and ideas. It's a great resource for planning a DW.

I would say the first thing is relax!! As a DW past bride, I can say with certainty that it will all work out. The WCs at the various resorts are trained at what they do, and the resorts do this almost every day so they absolutely know what they're doing! As well I would say let your WC deal with your guests. It will cut down on your stress if you aren't having to answer questions. And it will give your guests a professional that they can deal with.

Lastly, I have to say don't sweat the small stuff. Your wedding will be beautiful and you're getting married in paradise! Who could ask for more than that!

Good luck and happy planning!

Congrats and WELCOME!

Have you thought about doing a wedding website?  You can keep it up to date as your planning moves along.   Once you get it up you can give it to all your potential guest and have them refer to it for answers to questions.  Specially if you find a lot of people are asking the same question.

You can also try creating a private facebook group that only those you invite to join can see.  Then you can post Q&A sessions along with your progress on there.

:)

Ops. I also meant to add - for not getting overwhelmed with too much at the same time.

Try making a list (or a few)  and set priorities of what is most important.

Break things up into task that can be done maybe each week or month... spreading things out makes a huge difference then trying to do it all at once!

@@Mandiesue, Thank you and congrats to you as well. I know that the DR will be a beautiful wedding location.

@@RaynDrop, We did do a wedding site, but thank you for the FB idea, I think I will try that, as text and FB are the best way to get a hold of everyone it seems these days. Email just isn't working out to be as effective. I have had to limit myself to a wedding planning schedule so that it doesn't consume all of my time away from other priorities.

Thank you for the ideas!
