Travel Agent Vs Travel Websites?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anyone has an ideas or suggestions about using a travel agent or just looking at travel websites such as expedia etc?

I think that having a travel agent would make my life easier, as I don't have to answer travel questions all the time. I feel like it would seem more secure for our guests, but if travel websites are just as easy to deal with that works for me too!

We are in the very early stages of planning our wedding and are looking at Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana. Any advice would be appreciated!

I would definitely recommend a travel agent, whether you're in the US or Canada. Firstly, an agent can probably lock in a rate for you, or in the US, block rooms for you. And yes - you won't have to answer all of your guests questions about all of the travel details! That's what the agents get paid for! You're going to be busy working out your details so getting an agent will absolutely take away some of the "stress", and most likely dealing with an expert will be less stressful for your guests too!  Congrats and good luck!!

I think it is a great idea to use a travel agent that specializes in destination weddings.  We can offer perks that the online agencies do not have.

An example is for Dreams Palm Beach, the resort offers a group amenity of book 5 rooms, get the 6th free.  You would not have access to that by booking online.

TA Patty & TA Kristen are 2 agents that speacilize in Dreams Palm Beach.  You can read some of their reviews here.

Thanks for the info Tammy!

I filled out the form for Wright Travel last week, but haven't heard anything back yet. How long does it usually take to get a response?

Are there any TAs based in Canada?
