Paradisus Punta Cana 2014-2015 Brides

Hey guys I am new to this forum... We are trying to figure out a resort to renew our vows for our 15 year wedding anniversary. Have any ideas? My husband and I were married very young. I was 19 and he was 21... Soooo we really never had a wedding. We did it the civil route. This will be like a wedding for us. Please give me any type of advise picking a resort.

 

I was looking at the Paradisus in Punta Cana (the smaller of the paradisus). Please help!!!!

The resort is massive but beautiful. The food is good and the drinks were great. My two friends actually booked after my recommendations . One did the Aqua package and had 70 guests. I saw her pictures and it was beautiful. My other friend did the chill out chic and was just as beautiful. She says she wouldn't change a thing about her decision to get married there. My fiancé and me stayed there for 6 nights and we had such a great time. The resort is so much fun. My only minor complaint was check in, which took longer than should have but once we went to our room we forgot all about the wait. The rooms were spacious and very clean. Every year that we plan vacation I want to go back to Paradisus instead. I chose Paradisus because after looking at other resorts it had yhe best packages. I'm very excited and can't wait. nicolecd86 I am getting married on the 14th.  When are you getting there?  I am going to be using the tailor made package. 

Thanks Soly29.  I have seen so many reviews and have followed the blogs but I am still a little nervous.  What are your thoughts on the resort?  On my web page I am trying to give my guests pointers on the resort, good and bad, and would be interested to get thoughts form someone who has been there.

 

Hey Jessrich - Awesome I plan on getting to the hotel that week possibly Monday... Heres the crazy thing some  of my guests have been trying to book and guess what expedia says the hotel is sold out in January!!! I hope this is isnt the case for February (we cant see dates in February yet on Expedia)  Where are you travelling from? I'm from NY. I chose the Chill out chic package and I'm having around 70 guests. Im now a little worried about the hotel being sold out... I've read reviews that this is not new the hotel usually overbooks and guests are shuttled off to sister hotels ..this freaks me out. Are your guests getting rooms?? Please let me know.. also did you get a rate from the hotel?

Honestly the resort is beautiful.  The pools were always clean and the service was great.  I looked the Majestic Elegance as well but I found the package at PPC was more reasonable, of all the places I've looked at, they are the only one that include the private reception and you can add any extras that you want.  Most others are a dinner at a restaurant and then charge you for a private reception and even for the open bar. 

 

The nightlife at the resort is great, the lobby and the club were so much fun. There is definitely something for everyone to do. 

 

Nicolecd86, I was told that they would give us a block of rooms 6 months out (i'm hoping with a special rate) but that we are free to book via any venue. If you go to their website directly you can see rooms are available for both January and February 2015, the rates are higher but seems available. 

 

Danamarielouise, I booked mine directly with their offices in Miami. I signed the contract, put down my deposit and we are all squared away for 9/2015.  Its' a beautiful place and from what I was told by my friends the coordinators help you with everything so its not really necessary to hire an outside wedding planner, neither of them did. 

 

I am getting married legally in NYC and then doing a symboic ceremony in DR.  They sent me this with my inquiry.  Hope this helps all of you who are undecided on PPC.  Again best of luck to all

Nicolecd86 - I am getting there on Wednsday and have already booked my room.  I also did the group room rate and blocked 9 different room categories and 12 or more rooms so far. I did all of this through my travel agent.   I am from NY but I live in the DC area and will be traveling from here.  I have read about moving guests to other resorts.  I am trying to encourage my guests to get their reservations in early to ensure that we are all staying at the same resort.

That's awesome, you're all set! Did you just book rooms or was it rooms and flights? I just contacted Francis about getting room rates.. A lot of my guests prefer to book a vacation package where there flight and rooms are included but I hope the hotel gives us a good rate.. Can I ask what rate did you get?

Thanks for the info Soly29, the private reception is a major factor for me too... We're thinking the Chill Out Chic package. I'm a bit confused though for the 3 hour reception, where are you holding yours? I've seen some people mention outside, pool area and private converted area in the beach restaurant... And, is this when some others have hired a dj? I am hoping, didn't want to have to head to a disco! Thanks!

nicolecd86 I only booked the rooms.  I am on the lookout for the flights.  If you find anything good coming out of NYC let me know so I can share with my peeps   I know what you mean about vacation packages...I had some of the guests that received my STD's and go to my website gasp at the cost of the rooms without airfare.  I did a search for rooms using the same time frame, only 2014, and the rates were comparable or better than most of the resorts in Punta Cana.  Send me your email and I can send you my price list.  I have a sheet that has 9 different categories.  It is further broken down by number of guests in room and number of nights staying.

nicolecd86 i just sent you info.  I am going with the DJ for my reception.  I am still working on the add ons.  The onIy thing I know for sure is that I extended my reception for 1 hr.  I just went through the ceremony with my planner and our next meeting will be on the reception.
