Royalton White Sands

Recommended Posts

Soooooo I asked my TA about this resort and asked for pricing and she said that she had a bride that had such a bad experience that she doesn't even recommend the resort any longer. I wonder what was so bad that she doesn't even want to work with them. I've seen so many good things, well except for some of the unexpected fees

Beyond the cost, I've never heard anyone being unhappy with the Royalton - considering my wedding is there in 2 months I'm thinking positively that everything will go great!!  :)

73 more days til the big day!!!

Hello Brides...  I am new here and so glad I found this site :)    We just received confirmation for our wedding date at the Royalton on November 14, 2015   I am so excited, but starting to stress because I am having a hard time deciding what package to go with and photographer... Has anyone used True Colors Photography?  Is anyone adding the Jamaican experience with a DJ?  The band only plays for 2 hours, i think..  There is another wedding on our day, which makes me kinda nervous.. but hopeful it will still be AWESOME.   Anyone having a beach reception and adding a dance floor?

No, we didn't have any trouble with booking since we went through a travel agent who uses a tour group. We just gave our guests the travel agent information, and she sends me updates when people reach out and book so I know who's coming. So far we have a little over 30 guests booked, and we're expecting to end up with around 60 guests total.

We're doing a private reception for the wedding since the dancing is really important to us too! No, you cannot play your own music in one of the semi-private restaurant locations, so we chose the poolside location. We considered the beach but didn't want to have to worry about our guests walking through sand in nice shoes, and although we will still likely rent a dance floor, we thought the cost of the additional lights that would likely be needed, etc. would probably be more at the beach venue than the poolside one.

@@mimiblak, 100 people? Wow, that's going to be a great party!

Just FYI, you may want to ask about using your own DJ...it was my understanding that the resort only allowed outside photographers/videographers and not any other vendors.

Also, not sure if you have friends in Jamaica and are just planning to ship your centerpieces to them, but if you were planning to ship them to the hotel, you may want to ask about that too. Almost every hotel I was looking into said they did not accept shipments because they did not want to be responsible for guests' items. I'm not sure about the Royalton's policy on this so I'd love to hear what they say if you ask them. Currently, we are planning to pack up some extra suitcases and give them to family and friends to bring down for us, but if they accept packages, I will definitely look into that option.

Hi @CherJK--sorry for the late post, i have been swamped!! just replying back to share a few updates! so im confirmed at about 90 guests,, going to be a TON of ppl! we are bringing our own DJ, no extra fee becuase he is a wedding guest staying at the hotel.

Our plan for now is to bring all our of center pieces and other materials with us (and using the wedding party to help too) via carry on luggage and extra suit cases.

i really dont like their cake options so we're tyring to figure out something with that as well, but overall I think we're pretty much set with the details! 2 months and counting....but defintiely ready for the big day!

@@pamelas21 beautiful picture!! Congrats :)

Hi @@NoRad

We are getting married on April 18th 2015--very close to your date! We booked WPAJ for the photography and got the premium package with 2 photographers and a photo booth for the reception! we have a huge party of 90+ people, so wanted to make sure we captured every moment!
