Royalton White Sands

Recommended Posts

Hello future brides!! I've been reading all your posts, comments and reviews for months now! (I was engaged last April 2013) BUT My fiance and I were not ready yet to begin planning because of other great things happening in our lifes: house, new job, etc.

NOW, we are ready! And I'm super duper excited to get started!!

We always knew we would have a destination wedding so back when I was first engaged, I started to look up resorts...

I came across the Royalton White Sands in Montego Bay. It just opened this November 2014.

Well, we took a chance and booked our wedding despite them not being opened for that long! My date: November 17, 2014. YAY! :)

Anyways, enough about me - the whole point is I can't find ANYTHING on this website for the Royalton White Sands SO I thought I would post what I have so far from the wedding planner in case any other brides need more info!

Happy Planning ladies - wishing you all the best!

Pam :) xo

Hello Pam,

I am new to BDW. I am extremely interested in doing my wedding at RWS. However, I can't seem to find much info about the wedding dept. Im planning my wedding for June 2015, so I have to get the ball rolling. I noticed that you attached a few helpful document that I am unable to view. Would you mind sending that info to my personal email. Also, if you have any contact info for the wedding coordinator/ planner, I could definitely use that. Thank you in advance! email- [email protected]

Can anyone help me out with what documentation I need to send to the resort for our marriage certificate? I know I need birth certificates. But they need to be notarized? How do I get this done? Also where do I send them? Thanks ladies!

So happy I found this site! I am getting married at the Royalton April 1 2015!

Im a little bit shocked that I have so many extras to pay for! Freaking out a bit actually!  And I had no idea I didnt have to choose the resort photographer! I already booked them but never gave a deposit at all so I might have to cancel and rebook with someone else!

Cant wait to search thru the photo albums and everything!

If there is anything that anyone can email me it would be awesome [email protected]

Thank you!!

I'm getting married at the Royalton a few weeks after you @@Sayler!  I have a few photos of the resort if you'd like me to email them to you, we visited in May.

I'm a little worried about the extras too, but hopefully everything will work out great and under our budget! We decided to use an outside photographer, Marcia Roberts.

Happy planning!  :)

Sad news, Jamaican experience- you aren't allowed to substitute the food.

I have also attached some costs for lighting.

Lighting Recommendations for Private Functions

Below are some suggestions for lighting that we recommend for your private event! The basic proposal

is the bare minimum we recommend to light your event, and may change based on your guest count.

Speak with your wedding coordinator to ensure you receive an accurate estimate based on your

Location Basic Premium

Beach or Poolside

1-50 guests: $200 USD

51‐100 guests: $400 USD

101-200 guests: $550 USD

201-300 guests: $675 USD

Each base package include

Victorian lights and light for bar

1-50 guests: $200 USD (4 LED

uplights)

51‐100 guests: $400 USD (8

LED uplights)

101-200 guests: $550 USD (12

LED uplights)

201-300 guests: $675 USD (16

LED uplights)

Other lighting options and pricing for your reference are as follows:

Additional Victoria Lamps: $100 USD each

Additional Uplights: $50 USD each

I'm a little concerned with the lighting quote I rcvd. They told me $1617 for Chinese lanterns, including setup for 60 guests. They also quoted me $177 for my bouquet that contains 6 calla lilies. Am I being ridiculous in thinking that is too expensive?

Hi. Don't know if you got your question answered or not. We were married nearly 3 years ago in Jamaica and they asked us for certified copies, which meant taking the originals into a lawyer and they take the copies and certify that they are a true copy. We were also both divorced and had to do the same thing with our divorce papers. That's what will stay On file with the office of the registrar in Jamaica. You will receive a photocopy of your marriage registration after your ceremony but it will hake about 8 weeks before you receive your actual marriage certificate, which is what some Ontario offices require for name changes, etc. We picked Jamaica because it was just so painless to get legally married there instead of doing the legal at home then just a symbolic in Jamaica.

Good luck!
