Be glad u don't have carol! I wish she had left while she was my planner. Working with her was awful!

I had my reception at chil and it was a perfect little space for my 25 ppl.

As for music we did the iPod and ha a friend do the announcing. Also, if that's the route u go don't rent a mic. One was provided for us free of charge. Lomas will rent it to u for $50

@@ng2015 @@talicea7812 Oh don't you girls worry, I made sure to forward the email strand between Carol and I to Andrea and she actually already had it attached to her inital email to me, which I was happy about. I make sure when I email them it's the same email so everything is there and they can't slip anything in. ;)

@talice87812 thanks, it sounds like I am probably going to have around the same amount of people as you did. I can't wait to see all of your pics! So did you say you rented the iPod hookup with speakers and all that or did you bring one? I will make sure not to add a microphone if that's the route we go, thanks for the tip!

Yep. I rented. Think it was $250 for it. A dj would have been nice but I couldn't justify spending that much for such a small group... Plus we were pretty even in numbers with young vs older crowd. Sooo I really didn't expect a ton of dancing. We took up most of the reception time with the traditional dances, speeches, dinner and cake cutting. We did a little dancing then gathered back at the aquanox bar where we sat by the beach and drank. It was a very chill evening which was perfect for me and my group.

Has anyone else been told that with a large group (60+) Azul beach could not accommodate a wedding that size? It was my first choice until they wrote and told me that, for a wedding that large I would need to choose one of their sister resorts (we are now settled on Sensatori). I preferred the "1 wedding a day" policy at Azul Beach, and a few other aspects to the resort- so I'm a bit miffed! We would be doing private events... So this was not the concern.

Yeah, if you do some research, you'll see that Azul Beach does not accommodate large wedding groups. The other Azuls seem really nice too though.

Yeah- I've seen many brides here planning weddings with 80+ guests at azul beach and I keep wondering how!! I wonder if they haven't formally told the hotel how many guests they have and are in jeopardy of being moved?

I'm attending the BDR next weekend and plan on point blank asking the onsite coordinators when I'm there- since I'm ok with sensatori for sure... But would have liked the option of beach,

It would be nice to have the option for sure! When you're there, could you look at the different ceremony locations and post on here what they're like? I've booked to have it on the beach, but I think there might be more than one beach location. It would be nice to get some info from a bride's point of view! If you're taking pictures as well, sharing some of them would be awesome and greatly appreciated!!

@@kmk2016, I'm sure I've seen on here where other ABH brides have had around 80 guests and still had it there but I could be wrong. Have you looked through the Azul Beach Hotel thread? I did really pay attention to that detail just because we're having a smaller wedding so I didn't have to take that into account. Since they only have like 150 rooms I'm sure that's probably why plus your wedding is in high season so maybe they just don't accomodate it that time of year? Not sure....sorry :(
